What's your story?:

I was a wee nipper when I first tasted the iron dust in my lungs aboard Stokes. My mates and I would play among the ore piles waiting to be smelted. Not a place to be raising a child you'd hear, aye. But what choice did me mam and da' have? They didn't have a wee fortune hangin' around to raise me and my brothers like those clean clothed Londoners. They had to work for everything, so did we, even as kids. You know who's able to fit in a jammed rock crusher? Aye, a nipper's hand! That's how I lost the first, ol' lefty. Hasn't held me back much, I'm still just as capable as anyone else. Not that the foremen saw it that way. Soon as tha' happened I was kept in the accommodation wing, far from where I could hurt myself. But that's just it, I wasn't having it. So I gathered my belongings, what few there were, and stowed away on one o' them big miners the BMM lads operate. Didn't work out too well mind you. Didn't get too far until they found me. But they didn't take me back, guess I'd found a new family with them. Mind you they're all dead now, apart from Blinky, but he hasn't seen me or anyone since tho'e 'ippies caught us with our jocks right down. Ya could say I don't have the best of luck, but it was far better than the poor sods abandoned on Stokes. I visit it now and then, to remind myself of where I came from. But eh, can't tell you my 'ole life story, aye? Not even told ya about the time I lost ol' righty. Now that's a funny story..... [garbled shouting can be heard] Eh? What ya mean I can't be in here?
