34TH BRIGADE APPLICATION FORM
HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT, FOR OFFICIAL USE
MAIN INFORMATION

Name: Kaiden Vex

Age: 28

Origin: Planet Houston, Republic of Liberty

Character photo: [x]

Skill profile: Combat

Biography:

Background.
Kaiden Vex, a native of the Republic of Liberty, was born on the planet Houston in the Texas system. His relatives are Mary and Ben Vex.
Guardians' activities:

Mary Vex: She is a barista and was previously seen serving in the Freedom Fleet. Reason for leaving service: Pregnancy and fatigue from service in the fleet.

Ben Vex: Works as a repair and equipment technician for civilian ships (mechanic), previously served in the Liberty Fleet as a mechanic at the Norfolk shipyard. Left military mechanic service due to the imminent birth of a child.

Kaiden Vex studied at the Houston Industrial Institute, where he trained as a civilian shipbuilder. After graduation, Kaiden decided not to work in his specialty, but to try his hand at selling spare parts at a local repair and equipment service, but after a series of incidents, he was fired. While looking for work, he was recruited into the ranks of bounty hunters as a pilot.

Identification and observation.

Kaiden Vex, known at the time by the call sign “Cobra-Three,” was part of the eponymous squadron escorting merchant ships of the Republic of Liberty and the Kingdom of Bretonnia. Later, the Cobra squadron began carrying out orders to eliminate free pirates, as well as pilots from the criminal organizations “Liberty Rogues,” “Outcasts,” and “Mollies.” Due to the severity of these operations, the Cobra squadron was rebuilt three times, with Kaiden himself surviving each time.
After receiving information about this guild operative, an agent codenamed “Magellan” began to monitor Vex and anonymously send out individual orders to eliminate individuals who were potentially under the control of the wanderers. After fifteen operations to eliminate potentially dangerous elements, the members of the Cobra unit began to disappear, presumably dead or infected, with the exception of Kaiden. After some time, the unknown individuals reached Kaiden himself, but Magellan stepped in.

Escalation of the conflict.

An unknown group of individuals, potentially infected by an alien life form in the form of the Wanderers, insisted on a meeting to discuss one of the contracts. An excerpt from one of the messages:
"Kaiden Vex, this is Charles Wilson, representative of Universal Cargo Transport Corporation. We have heard about your track record and would like to discuss a contract for escorting a trade convoy. You can come to Freeport-4 yourself, or if you wish, we can send people to pick you up. We have heard that your unit has been depleted in numbers, but we are specifically interested in you. I hope our cooperation will be fruitful."
As it later turned out, this was an operation carried out by the infected. Deciding not to leave any traces, they planned to eliminate Vex while he was still in space, on his way to the station. The logic was simple: the mercenary had enough enemies, and his death in deep space would not raise any unnecessary questions. But Magellan, anticipating such a turn of events, had hired a squad of “Stray Dogs” in advance through front men — cheap cannon fodder whose lives no one cared about. They were tasked with covering Vex's ship at the cost of their own lives.

In the ensuing battle, Vex's ship took the brunt of the attack and was severely damaged. When the threat was repelled, the surviving Stray Dogs took control of the situation. Surrounding the damaged ship, they issued an ultimatum: either Vex comes with them, or they finish him off right there in open space. There was essentially no choice — there was nowhere to go. So, at gunpoint, Vex was forced to go with them in an unknown direction.

Recruitment.

Upon arrival at the meeting place, Agent Magellan explained the situation to Kaiden. He outlined the entire chain of events: who saved him, who was hunting him, and why the hunt was only just beginning. It became clear that the infected would not retreat, their nets were everywhere, and there was nowhere to run. The choice was simple and cruel: either work for the Order under his wing, or live on the run, which would sooner or later end in a space grave. Fear for his life forced Kaiden to agree.

He was transferred to the Order, where he became a pilot carrying out special assignments. The work was mainly carried out in the Liberty and Bretonia systems — under the guise of a pirate or mercenary, he carried out “random” attacks on specific targets, eliminated them, and disappeared without a trace. He was paid generously and provided with new, clean documents to reduce his visibility. Over time, he earned a reputation as a skilled and cold-blooded pilot.
It was this reputation that attracted attention during one of the operations — the transfer of the battleship Atum from Vespucci to Coronado. His work was monitored by Valdemar Otto, commander of the 341st Strike Wing. After assessing Kaiden's skills, Otto personally offered him a place in his unit. Vex agreed without hesitation. Valdemar drew up the necessary documents, and soon Kaiden was transferred under his direct command.
