It took less than 20 minutes for Lutz to be back in the co-pilot seat of the freighter with a smirking Karl next to him.

“I knew you made friends quickly, but that's a new record even for you. And how fast they unloaded my ship.” Karl grinned cheekily at him.

“I'm not in the mood for jokes. Scheiße! It could get dangerous. What were they thinking, dragging us into this without a second thought?”
“Oh, come on. Playing the savior to a couple of young students, maybe even some girlies. How hard can it be?”

"That's easy for you to say. The Empire will guard New Berlin like the apple of its eye. It'll be hard to get out of there."
“Well, we'll manage. I think the jump hole is within reach.”

The small freighter prepared to pass through the jump hole. Although travel through jump holes was relatively common, a certain residual risk could never be ruled out.
