Liberty Navy - NORR-826-OCSA Name:Daniel White Date of Birth:07/17/808 Place of Birth:Planet Los Angeles Sex:Male. Height (cm):182. Weight (kg):90. Relatives:Mother, Cynthia White
Previous Work Experience:Briefly worked as a shop assistant in the ship dealer on Los Angeles. General duties included preparation of vessels for sale, test flights and general maintenance duties.
Previous Military Service:Liberty Navy secondary fleet. Lieutenant Commander. Current stand-in commander for the Archer class LNS Oakland. Originally a fighter pilot escort for general patrol duties assigned to California. Brief stint as a fire control operator on a Defiant class gunboat. Has spent seven years in the Liberty Military. Biographical Segment:I originally started life as a bit of a college dropout. Through contacts with friends made at the time I took a part time job at the local ship dealer in Los Angeles. The work itself largely involved test flying ships, the occasional customisation for a customer and such like. Though after a few years of barely scraping by as this particular role didn't exactly pay well, a mutual acquaintance suggested I enrol as a test pilot at West Point academy due to my experience (and willingness) to fly yet to be test proven vessels. My day of reckoning came when during a routine shakedown trial of an Upholder bomber after a refit, myself and my partnered test pilot were set upon by pirates between the West Point and California jump gate connection.
It was during that encounter I understood the meaning of fight or flight, I chose to fight. The hostiles encountered were in fact destroyed before our distress call was answered, a feat I to this day do not deem particularly incredible. You can generally get the feel for a vessel within seconds of leaving the hangar, or at least, I assume most people do and at the time I did not find pitting a powerful craft such as that against mere bandits to be above the basic expectation.
On my return to the station it was determined I should instead undergo combat pilot training per my CO's recommendation. Of course I decided to take this opportunity having by now decided I wanted to see what I was actually capable of. Much to my surprise I was selected for a patrol detail in California and that was where I remained up until three years ago when I volunteered to (temporarily) cover the fire control station of a Defiant class gunboat, I was commended for my usefulness to improvise in a sticky situation and take the lead where others hesitated.
Since that point I spent the period from then until semi recently volunteering to take on new positions of various of different vessel types wherever that was permitted, I have always liked a challenge and have never expected things to come easy. Needless to say, I now have a working knowledge of more than a few types of craft and its capabilities.
Six months ago, I was assigned to the cruiser LNS Oakland as its executive officer having proved myself in other areas. After undergoing the necessary officer training at West Point. I later succeeded its commander in this role while a replacement was being found. I have since decided to apply for a transfer to First Fleet to hopefully elevate my progression further as my post here is likely to end within the next few months. It has in fact taught me a number of important lessons though, those of which I hope to build upon further. I feel my willingness to try my hand at anything and skills learned from my time with the secondary fleet would prove useful to First Fleet.
OORP Part Your experience in Discovery:As my forum account suggests I've been around for a good old while. Though I have had periods of absence away from the game due to life, etc. Originally intended to mainline one faction but with the dwindling population of the server I feel as though I should branch out a little bit and give other factions some time and effort. I imagine if you look back enough years I have probably been sanctioned at one point although to be quite honest I really don't remember. I've never been banned or anything serious, that much I know. Feel free to DM with any queries, should there be any. Are you familiar with the Laws of Liberty and the Discovery RP 24/7 Server Rules?:Yes Respectively, rate your RP and PvP skills on a scale to 10:RP: 5? (Depending on your perspective) PvP: 2 (3 on a good day? Not that great at rating myself.) Discord Username:Explorer487 Timezone: GMT +0
