This wasn't the end.

Although it initially seemed as if they had lost the Nomads' forces by escaping the mysterious system of Brightest Light, aliens quickly caught up with the group, moving at impossible speed. It wasn't hard for the Crimson Veil to guess whose servants were pursuing them. Harbinger, though not personally revealed, continued his hunt.

Meanwhile, the Chevalier's gunship engines began to malfunction again, much like they did at the Everlasting Ebb. The Nomads didn't attack yet, though they kept close. As if awaiting a silent command from their master. And despite the delay, that command eventually came.

Although the group had managed to approach the gateway to the Tau systems, they were still forced to engage in combat, fending off clusters of maneuverable and extremely fast pursuers, as well as enraged Outcasts firing on both sides of the conflict. It was a brutal battle, testing the strength of Emilia's fighter's shields and hull.

But ultimately, they couldn't win. Scanners detected the approach of a group of particularly large Nomads. There was no chance of destroying those. The group had no choice but to flee through the passage to the Tau-37.
