Description

The Republican Provisional Assembly has lost two Harrier fighters in a recent operation, during a strike against a Cryer Pharmaceuticals convoy. Due to the nature of the strike, the Assembly prioritized the re-location of a less-than-willing Dr. Eric Moore - A biochemist for Cryer.

As Harriers are a limited resource, each ship that can be reclaimed from the field is one less that needs to be built by Arranmore's overcapacity Shipyard. It is not uncommon for a single Harrier hull to have seen several dozen combat sorties. If a Harrier is shot down or disabled, its hull is towed; the pilot brought back home, be they dead or living.

The flight computer of these battered space jets therefore, can have the flight data and journal entries of countless pilots, and with the fight for Dublin's freedom ever-raging, routine data-backups are often skipped for the sake of getting each ship back into the field ASAP.

Were such a ship to be lost forever, then so too would the priceless thoughts, data, and memories of its pilots, be lost to the deep dark.

This operation will not come without considerable risk, however. One of the Cryer convoy escorts - a Defiant Gunship - Was able to flee the scene. As a result, the Assembly suspects that by now, the Crownies and Cops are likely to be crawling all over New London's lane network.

But with the Harriers at risk, and the ship of the good Dr. left behind (which could contain valuable data of its own, most notably the cargo manifest), a considerable reclamation team is assembled, and sent out into New London.

Meanwhile, the Civil Defense Initiative, has indeed been informed of Dr. Eric Moore's kidnapping by Molly forces. The Initiative tags the Bretonian Intelligence Service and informs them of the incident.

While the likelihood of Crown assets finding leads on Dr. Moore's whereabouts are slim, there's always the chance that the perpetrators return to the scene of the crime.

And even if the odds of taking in anyone alive are low, perhaps a dead man's battered ship computer could give them valuable intel on where to look.

Both Molly and Cop alike will realize, that the Cryer Convoy was previously attacked near the lanes approaching Planet Dover. There is a distinct possibility, that the wrecks may have drifted some distance away from the lanes, towards the gas giant.

Both sides are now independently aware of where best to look for any ship remains, and only the fates know just how big of a skirmish is about to go down..

Gathering time is planned to begin at 18:00 UTC on Sunday, 1st of February.

The skirmish area is in Sector F4, just inside the Hounslow Debris Field's eastern side.

The Flight Lead on each team is encouraged to reach out to me on [Damaged-Harrier] once their respective side is fully ready to commence the scene. I want to try and keep one side from jumping the other before half their players are in position/ready.

Please bear in mind: While PvP is inevitable, please don't be a chat macro monkey. Try and post a little banter before the fight starts?

Rules

- The 2 Wrecked Harriers and 1 Wrecked Draugr are NON-COMBATANTS. They will be controlled by Story Tellers, and server commands will be used to ensure that they are mostly invulnerable to damage.

- NO BATTLE-CRUISERS OR BATTLESHIPS ARE ALLOWED.
The Crown will not authorize the use of heavier assets for this operation.
This is to also keep things fair since Molly side cannot field anything bigger than Cruisers.

- Hegemons are OK, since every faction can field them.

- NO STATION/PLANET REPAIRS ARE ALLOWED.
The only allowed Repair/Restock method will be Docking Module fitted mother ships for snubs. It is far easier for Lawfuls to flee and Repair/Restock, so we will keep it fair and only allow Dock Module Repairs.


- No Respawns are allowed - To the victor belongs the spoils!

There’s no advanced sign-up required for participation, although if you would like to let others know you'll be attending, that's A-OK!

What's At-Stake?

- A Molly Victory means keeping Harriers out of enemy hands, and the journal entries/flight data aboard them from being lost forever.
Taking Dr. Eric Moore's Draugr that was previously left behind, will also reveal Cargo Manifest data. There may also perhaps be something worth gleaning aboard that ship, even if only some lab supplies or machines that the Assembly otherwise would not have access to.
The chance to strip the Draugr of the Gekokujou Weapons System is icing on the cake.

- A CDI/BIS Victory will mean securing possible leads on Cryer Doctor Eric Moore's whereabouts. The flight computers within two criminal Harriers could contain any number of things, possibly even who was involved with Eric Moore's abduction. Not to mention, two half-intact Harriers might be enough to cobble together a functional space craft. From there, any number of things could be possible, from risky undercover espionage to full blown reproduction via reverse engineering.
