A subtle smirk lingers on his face throughout the rebuttal - no offense taken, for this is perhaps little more than entertainment to him. Likely even more engaging than idle small talk. Still, he seems unwilling to grant her the last word in the exchange.

"Mhm. Perhaps you could trample us underfoot. But you know what they say about treading on serpents."

At that, he gives a casual shrug. A brief silence settles between them as the same servant from earlier approaches, delivering a tall, frosted glass filled with a visibly fizzy blue liquid. Nothing alcoholic, surely - a truth betrayed by the sharp, almost exaggerated scent of blueberry flavoring rising from it.

"I'm just playing. It's more fun for me to know I'm not sitting across from a pushover."

The glass lifts to his lips for a slow, deliberate sip. Ice clinks softly against the sides as he drinks, his eyes never leaving her, quietly measuring her reaction.
