I hope all has been well with our friends in Crayter. Between recent cosmopolitical developments and the crisis manifesting in Coronado, I would understand if Yuma is feeling more pressure than it rightfully should.
In light of recent developments, both within Lipari and the wider Tau-centric region, it is in Lipari's interest to inquire to our allies in Coronado as to the Crayter government's position towards the news coming out of Kusari. As you're no doubt aware, both from the recent hacks of the CNS's latest broadcasts as well as formal press releases by both Kusari and Liberty, the secretive development of refined technologies relating to shipborne anomalaeic traversal generators, also known as Jump Drives, by Kusari has been concerning to say the least. While we've dealt with smaller groups such as the Outcasts and Royalist Gallia in the past utilizing experimental drives to wreak havoc on military formations, the feasibility of contained junctures being held open continuously presents a new matter to consider entirely.
Given the considerable grievances Kusari has caused both of our nations in the past, once as collaborators with the Royalist menace and then as the Butchers of the Gallic Confederacy, sowing the fate of your Hades and our own Aurora in the process, to treat the potential of New Tokyo wielding something with the power that jump drives possess as anything less than the monumental threat that it is would be an exercise in foolishness. While there are many in the government that loathe the status quo Ageira has propagated for over six-hundred years, and the scientific community on Lipari Island has recognized the potential that Kusari's research has, the reliability and stability that jump gates and their associated lanes have provided Sirius cannot be questioned. It is doubtful that Kusari, given their history of aggression against those they see as beneath them, will solely utilize these drives for peace; War has remained the sole constant of this 'Reformed Empire' since the fall of the Kusarian Republic many years ago; If you have doubts, I ask that you look to the Sigmas and Rheinland, Gallia and the now collapsed Rishiri Corridor, and our own wounds incurred during Kusari's invasion of Tau-31 and Languedoc.
Since the disclosure of these details, as well as the subsequent related public announcement by Kusari, it has been the position of Lipari that to stand aside while the gears of war between Liberty and Kusari churn would be foolish. While we do not believe that war to curtail such a threat is the sole and only option presented to us, Yuma's longstanding association with Kusari through the Harris Treaty allows for a considerable level of potential political pushback. We therefor ask that Crayter present an official, public response to Kusari noting the threat that deployment of this technology poses to the continued hope of peace throughout the Sirius Sector. Though we are doubtful, should the potential to include Bretonia in these responses present itself, we would urge you to do so, as only a united front against a threat to peace can stand to preserve it.
We make no effort to conceal our disdain for the Kusari state, or its actions in the past, but stand by our belief that there remains a place in the galactic community for their people should attempts to overthrow by violent means the fragile norms that hold society together be retracted and discontinued. It is my hope, and Lipari's, that we should not repeat the horrors that befell Leeds, Borneo, New London, and the Taus, for the sake of our children, and our children's children.
We wish you luck, our esteemed allies, no matter which path you choose.
