This has gotten much more complicated than I'd hoped.

I've conferred with some colleagues, specifically people who've dealt in space/time travel, radar detection, & jump systems altogether. The Lane Hackers leaking plans for personal jump systems puts the Sirius-wide economy at great risk.

The timeline in which we all live, lets call it "our reality" for the sake of simplicity, utilized interstellar travel by creating a controlled route through another timeline - let's refer to it as "the Webway".

The Webway hosts all forms of interstellar traffic from both humanity and the nomads. It seems at least within the Sirius system, it is working to a near maximum capacity. The use of the "Dragon's Egg" highlights this perfectly as its destruction created a rupture in the Thuringia system. This is one instance of of major slip space technology going "haywire" (for lack of a better term) and causing a massive dimensional rift in space.

Our reality relies on the Webway's stability for the sake of our economy and so on. But if too many passages are opened, if too many slip space systems are manufactured incorrectly, destroyed, misused, or perhaps given to a large number of people. The results of this could be catastrophic, and economic disruption is the least of those concerns if it were to occur.

I'd recommend in your next meeting with the Bundestag that you press the idea of banning all jump drive technology outside of state entities altogether. Frame it as you will, if you tell the truth, that could have consequences and vice versa if you don't.

But this also brings me to a relative solution.

All jump technology is - to a degree - based off of Alien jump system technology or believed to be so. Ageira and EFL have likely monopolized this for a long time, but in order to ensure the Webway's security we need a way of monitoring its predicament in real time.

Alien jump systems are far more sophisticated then our own, and there is only one active artifact that I know of that potentially holds at least a clue to mapping out and understanding the Webway's usage in real time.

The Deep Omega territories are mostly overrun with infected remnants of the nomad war, if able to be navigated however, they pave way to a remarkable find.

Manuel Fischer's find from the early colonization of Rheinland holds true it seems. It's a very short-lived and small class of black hole, but never the less carries the same light-trapping gravitational current that could rip nearly any object to shreds.

I say nearly since, as you can see, there is a large alien structure practically sitting on the event horizon. Inside the shielding it causes the gravitational pull of the black hole to cease completely. Any relic capable of bending space in a constant manner such as this to an extreme scale might pave way to some clue for understanding this "Webway" we very desperately need to keep tabs on. I understand this is a long shot, but we don't have many more options, I'm in contact with the Lane Hackers and am working on a few alternatives but nothing is quite as concrete as this right now. I've made their hubris clear to them as well.

I propose we lead a scientific team aboard one of our "Bustard" class carriers, accompanied by a small battlegroup directly to the structure. Once inside we will dispatch smaller ships to escort the scientists close enough to analyze the object in as much detail as possible. Fighters and gunships will be necessary to provide cover against the automated defenses that lurk nearby it. I am personally willing to oversee the operation, but we will need some detachments from the Marinekommando as well to ensure the safety of all personnel selected for this mission. If needed I will provide specific route analysis uncovered during RICIN & I's recon of the area to verify the safest route.
