"That's all I needed to hear." Dirk replied, taking in one last breath through the filter of a dying cigarette as a smirk washed over his face. "A lot of things are at stake here. So I suggest the two of you don't start butting heads later."

Both Kendrick and Mercer had their own little quirks that would eventually come to clash in the final design of their product. The grizzled veteran could only hope he was right in bringing the family's most "savvy" members -- a domestic terrorist and a disgraced chemist.

"From this point on, you two are equally responsible with the solution to our problems." bitterness crept up in his tone. The words he was going to say next did not sit right with him. "The Arsonist will oversee all operations while I'm gone to take care of something else. Because we don't have a dedicated lab of sorts, you will work inside of Tixtla's cargo bay. She is currently moored with Basel. You have some resources there to work with -- and what you don't have, you will have to procure yourselves. You don't have to be kind when you do it."

And just like that, Dirk gave up his role as the leading voice of the family to another. In reality, he didn't expect a swift return from the Sigma region -- and maybe even Kusari, if the job would turn out to be more complex.

"Good luck." he'd add, before leaving his seat, his duties and his prized trophy behind. The bar's doors had hissed open once again, before shutting once again behind Dirk.
