Yazdan was born to respectable family on Jiangxi. Like many older Coalition families, they considered themselves descendents of Hispiana stowaways, and therefore carry two things: a fanatical ideological devotion to the Coalition, and a powerful inherent disdain for Corsairs. Yazdan was inculcated from birth with the stern political and theoretical underpinnings of his society. He did well in most areas of academic study, and also showed an excellent sporting streak; young Yazdan therefore found ideological, mental, and physical stimulation in the Coalition youth programmes within the Navy. Yazdan completed a Masters Degree in Astrophysics with significant secondary studies on political theory. Following this, he joined the Navy as an officer cadet, and worked his way through the ranks with excellent distinction. Yazdan showed dash and impeccable zeal throughout his service. He also showed a natural capacity as a leader: stern, reasonable, easily understood, a victor, a strategist, and (importantly) he showed concern for welfare. Yazdan was fairly quickly awarded command of a gunship. His career continued upwards in tonnage until his present commission in command of Hurricane-class battlecruiser CPW Tigris. Yazdan deliberately applied for Tigris in connexion with its reference to his family's ancient homelands on Terra. As Captain, Yazdan serves the versatile roles expected of the type, varying from long-range lone aggressive patrols to fleet actions in Omega-47 and Dublin. Yazdan's political awareness also remains acute and, gifted with a reasonable degree of oratory skill, he serves well as an ambassador of the Coalition in dealing with allied forces. Yazdan's less useful traits (as far as the Commissariat are concerned) include a highly romantic and, at times, unworkably optimistic vision for the Sirius sector in which all the oppressed populations of the debauched Houses arise in decisive revolution. Yazdan also subscribes to several bizarrely antiquated views whereby he, for instance, insists on labelling the Houses as the "Alliance" -- these due to his family's belief in its own direct link to the ancient Sol War. Despite these impracticalities, Yazdan does retain an acceptably complete intention to erase the debauched Houses, and serves the Commissariat and Supreme Council without question.

Tigris' first tour involved live weapons testing and shakedown destroying Corsair bases and squadrons in Omega-52. Since then, she has seen action in Omega-52, Omega-47, Omega-5, and Dublin. Captain Yazdan was able to successfully navigate Leeds and New London to Dublin without detection during an exploratory voyage to test Bretonian home system defences.

When not operating independently, Tigris often serves in the Omega 52 Fleet screening the CPW Carrier Butcher and CPW Alaska (another Hurricane-class battlecruiser).
