To start of with, I want you to know that I am truly thankful for this. And it goes without saying that if something that does require my presence happens, I'll rush back without a second thought.

I'd like to add one thing though. Never would I dare to backseat Bancroft, he's an expert in his field. Much more competent than most of us would be in it. Maybe the language I used invoked the wrong impression. So to clarify, I am merely asking for some R&R. This won't be me acting in any official capacity, just as you said, enjoying the festivities.
