Liberty Navy 46th Fleet - Task Force Akhetaten Security Clearance: < GRANTED >
Sender ID: Commodore Samantha Brown
Recipient ID: Lena Weller, Christopher Jensen
Subject: Application Response
Director, Commissioner,
While I am not part of Forty-sixth's High Command, I've been assigned to respond to your applications by Admiral Aden Tanner, who specifically requested they be looked over by myself. Considering the common elements between your applications, with both of you being active officers - a term that I understand is a grave understatement - of the Libertonian Armed Forces, and desiring to join the Forty-sixth Fleet in order to drive your careers forward, I have made the decision to respond to the both of you using one transmission. I am Commodore Samantha Brown, the officer in charge of Project Normandy, as command of which was given to me by Vice Admiral Maria Uhmen due to her own lack of availability. Additionally, once Project Normandy is completed it is myself who will be placed in command of the newly commissioned Memphis-class battleship, the LNS Normandy.
After reading through your applications in detail, I now believe I understand why Admiral Tanner placed me in charge of responding to them, given the timing of said applications as well as the qualifications of both of you. As it just so happens, the LNS Normandy is merely a few steps away from seeing her commissioning with the Forty-sixth Fleet. Your applications could not have come at a better timing, considering that I have been on the look-out for commanding staff aboard the Normandy for a while now, and I believe I have stumbled across just that.
I believe we have previously gotten acquainted aboard Juneau Shipyard, mister Jensen. Your inputs for Project Normandy have been invaluable to the Navy and your engineering knowledge on the ancient and outdated reactor designs of the Osiris has left me impressed. I understand that a man of your position and knowledge will be a significant asset to the Forty-sixth Fleet, let alone the commanding staff of LNS Normandy.
Miss Weller, while I cannot say I know you or gotten to see your capabilities in action, your long list of qualifications leads me to believe that you will not be disappointing the Fleet, and I certainly look forward to working alongside you.
Without further ado, I would like to formally introduce you to the Liberty Navy Forty-sixth Fleet. You will each be serving under the banner of Task Force Akhetaten, and will be undertaking leadership positions aboard the LNS Normandy. Naturally, due to your status and past ranks on the Liberty Marshals and Liberty Police, Director and Commissioner respectively, you will not only be skipping basic training but also be given ranks that would match your years in law enforcement service.
Christopher Jensen; you will be given the rank of Commander.
Lena Weller; you will be given the rank Lieutenant Commander.
I do not say this lightly, your responsibilities within the Forty-sixth Fleet will be immense. As commanding staff aboard the LNS Normandy, Commander Christopher Jensen will be taking up the position of executive officer while Lieutenant Commander Lena Weller will be taking up the position of chief of security and will be acting as the warships executive officer should Jensen be otherwise unavailable.
That will be all. Report to the Fleet's Headquarters aboard Norfolk Shipyard at 0800 hours tomorrow where you will be given further instructions. Once you're done with setting yourselves up, I expect to meet you aboard Juneau Shipyard in person.
Welcome to the Fleet, to Task Force Akhetaten, and to LNS Normandy.
