Faction Name:Samura Heavy Industries Faction Leader Name: @pals Number of Active Players this Quarter: 6
What did you do to advance your faction's objectives this quarter?
Samura focused mostly on advancing our current projects in regards to our main base, Xuanming Trade Center. Our focus here was shipbuilding, production of shipbuilding parts and refining Platinum. We publicated our progress in press releases and continued working with our allies and the public of Kusari. We gave guidance to newer players and indy Samura players.
What are your faction's objectives for the next quarter?
We plan to continue our operations on our base. We also hope to include new activities with our members. We will also continue to work with the other lawful Kusari factions. We are looking forward to seeing how the Liberty-Kusari tensions will play out, and are ready to assist Kusari with whatever they need (hopefully this will happen in this quarter, if not the next). We also plan to secure our supply of ores and refined ores from the Border Worlds, be it Platinum, Niobium or Fuel. What did you do to boost activity and promote high-quality roleplay this quarter?
Samura fills the role of the trading factions in Discovery. Traders are the basis of activity in a house. We as traders, aim to make profit and make it hard for pirates to catch us. If pirates are around, we do often call for KNF, KSP, KOI or other friendly factions to help against the pirates. Samura fullfills mostly its own projects right now, but remains ready for contracts from the Kusari Government aswell as KNF and other allies.
In the forums, we mostly answer the people who contact us, helping them as much as possible to keep up our good public relations. Hopefully, with new developments in Kusari and our active regions, we can initiate more roleplay ourselves in the future.
How would you like the story of your NPC faction to be developed from here on out?
Samura is one of the most powerful corporations in Sirius and Kusari. Lately, it seems Samura's story has developed into a direction which the community and Samura's playerbase does not enjoy. The allegded insurance scam at Osaka and the questionable cleanup job at Roppongi come to mind. Those are parts of story which barely got any attention and interaction from the community. We believe that more positive events and story parts will attract better outcomes and more attention. There is little fun in being the "stupid bad megacorporation". We believe there is much potential in the conglomerate style of Samura. Perhaps smaller Samura owned companies could make for interesting story, perhaps even far beyond the borders of Kusari. Samura should get away from being a single minded megacorporation comitting fully to mistakes, but rather spread out and diversify its business, with only the main body of Samura continuing the important work within the core systems of Kusari.
What roleplays, events, or activities did you do this quarter to promote this development?
In this quarter, we mostly focused on continuing our usual activities. Internal changes within the factions were an additional challenge we overcame. Kusari right now is in preparation for a conflict with Liberty. Ones this important story part comes, we will be ready to create and participate in events and roleplay.
Note: There was a leadership change this quarter, just so you know. @Hopewell is second in command, but a board of advisors, including a predecessor @Geolog, to Hopewell and the @pals, as well as the @Master L, has been supporting the new leader, resulting in this first quarterly experience. We expect to improve our performance in the coming quarters. Thank you for your understanding.
