Summary of session one of the Akabat Summit in 836 AS

With all the representatives assembled and seated the summit was finally primed to begin. The opening words were given by Admiral Solandros, thanking all those who had gathered for their time and swift responses before elaborating on the purpose of the summit: Addressing the ever encroaching threat of the Nomads and how to proceed. Josephine Schulz of the Order Overwatch stepped up as Chair for the proceedings, explained the rules of the summit and opened the floor to speak.

First up was Colonel Narson, stil in the process of recovering of his injuries, bringing up the points of the state of the Order and logistical concerns. The need to rebuild lost vessels and repair the Orders shipyard were among the chief points, with the possibility of opening up Azurite Gas to the Orders allies as additional incentive.

The representatives introduced themselves and reacted to the Colonels points in various degrees, one particular subject was the freeing up of logistical corridors from hostile groups to create some much-needed breathing room. It quickly became apparent however that due to the many new faces, including those who would normally consider each other closer to foe than friend, that the proceedings were being overshadowed with a looming feeling of distrust.

This all came a head when Flora, the Gaian representative spoke up and spoke frankly: “We are all here, allegedly, to work together against a common enemy. But as we all know, that enemy has their own allies. And, now that I look around the table... - she paused for a second, sweeping the attendees with her gaze. - I can name at least three parties here who, beyond reasonable doubt, have ties to said allies of our enemy.”
Murmurs swept across the room until Doctor Schulz called the room to attention and allowed Admiral Solandros to address the claim.

He called for moving to logistical topics to breakrooms with relevant parties to ensure further security and stressed that everyone present had been thoroughly screened for infection and was here because they opposed the ambitions of the Nomads. Admiral Hunter followed suit, emphasizing that infighting only played into the hands of the Nomads and the dire situation Humanity was currently in.

The summit continued with further introductions from the remaining representatives. Once all representatives had done so a proposal was made for a brief intermission to let everyone gather their thoughts and let emotions cool. Breakout rooms were provided for those representatives who indicated they wanted a moment to discuss matters amongst themselves.
