Summary of session two of the Akabat Summit in 836 AS

A ringing sound echoed throughout the floor, followed by the voice of Doctor Schulz informing the representatives that the summit would continue shortly. Once all the representatives had returned Admiral Solandros stood up to introduce the next point on the agenda; The current state of the war against the Nomads and their area of operation.

“As some of you have already pointed out the Nomads and their infected ilk are an ever growing problem. Not since the Nomad war of 36 years ago has the threat been so great. We have seen the Nomads expand their reach from the Omicrons to the Sigmas, Rheinland, Kusari, the Omegas, now we are even starting to see them operate in Bretonia and the Taus as well.” The Admiral started, pointing out the various atrocities the Nomads had committed as he continued, until he pointed out a flaw the Nomads had: They followed a pattern.

Nomads would get Humans fight each other to soften each other up then swoop in to deliver a finishing blow. Rheinland during the Nomad war, Toledo, Omicron Zeta and now Kusari, all had the mark of their handiwork. Now with jump drives the cost of life was expected to be greater than ever, the Admiral predicted militaries would simply avoid each other and strike against vulnerable targets to cause maximum damage.
Admiral Hunter, seeing this as his que, added that the development of Jump Drive Suppressors should be one of their top priorities, a large group wide project aimed at realizing its creation as soon as possible.

As the representatives mulled over the words of the Admirals, the Outcast rep Rosa Veraz of the De Angelis cartel, Alliance Commander Moretti of the Xeno Alliance and Flora of the Gaians were the first to speak. Rosa pointed out that the act of leaking the Jump Drive data by the Lane Hackers was a rash action, causing the risk of everyone becoming an agent of chaos, which was likely what the Nomads wanted.
Moretti from the Xeno Alliance meanwhile pointed out that happenings in Ontario and Coronado should in no case be overlooked, as well as suggesting they were but the first dominos to fall in what was no doubt a chain of events that the Nomads sought to set off to find -something-.
Flora meanwhile questioned the implication that Kusari was compromised by the Nomads and that the Jump Tech was alien in nature, asking the Admiral for any potential proof to the claim.
Chloe of the Lane Hackers pointed out that letting Kusari or Liberty monopolize the tech wasn’t going to do anyone any good and that this had been the best way of ensuring the needed technology would be developed as soon as possible.

Each of the representatives had raised valid points worthy of addressing and Doctor Schulz handed the floor back to Admiral Solandros to respond. Evidence was provided in the form of intelligence reports from Tohoku obtained by the 34th fleet, alien Pylons, clearly not Human in design, forming a chain of energy to what the Admiral claimed was a jump hole that was forced into existence. The claim of the Lane hackers was defended, it would have surely taken years if not decades to develop this technology without the insight provided by the probe, time the Nomads would have had to cause untold suffering throughout Sirius. Finally the Admiral agreed that Ontario and Jericho required attention, however he also admitted that at the moment they had very little intel to go off of. A personal concern was raised at just how similar the beam of light was that came from Sudburry to those from the Pylons that breached a hole in space. If those small pylons were capable of such a feat, what would moon sized version do?

Next to speak was one of the IMG representatives, Albert Schulze, who pointed out the dangers Jericho provided if left unattended, as well as mention of a Nomad attack in Orkney that had thus fur not been brought up yet.
The discussion continued some time with information now flowing more freely, earlier distrust seemingly forgotten, at least for the moment. Various scenarios and happenings were discussed, including the rumored existence of a so-called colony of Wilde and the kidnapping of entire cruise liners full of people for potential infection. The latter of which caused for some skepticism, Alliance Commander Moretti raising the point that slavery was a far more likely motivation.

A brief moment of tension arose when a Bundschuh representative brought up the theory that the breaches created by jump drives were the cause behind the pulse and might lead to a total collapse of the natural jump hole network, it was decided that further study was needed but to keep it in mind.

Eventually Doctor Schulz yielded the floor to Admiral Solandros once more, who aimed to get bring attention back to the point of the agenda. He pointed out that everyone seemed in agreement to crack the code of Jump Drive technology and develop the jammers, both for personal safety and to avoid potential unforeseen consequences. The delegates also agreed on a second point; Whatever started in Ontario and Coronado had to be stopped, they’d have until the Atum finished its repairs to determine which was the higher priority. Local support would be essential for such an undertaking.
Alliance Commander Morreti pointed out the current situation of the Xeno Alliance, wounded and recovering from victorious fights with Liberty. Local support would be a tall order in their current state, support would be needed to recuperate.

The session concluded with Admiral Solandros agreeing and adding that it would take more than the combined efforts of the Xeno Alliance and the Order if they were to succeed in doing anything about the alien structure on Sudburry.

Breakout rooms created after session two:
  • Order (Overwatch) - IMG – ALG
  • Order (Overwatch) - Bundschuh - Blood Dragons (KLA) - Lane Hackers
  • Order (Eclipse Vanguard) - Gallic Navy
  • Outcasts - Xenos
