ENTITIES OF INTEREST || Thralls-Infectees-Familiars

This information is part of a greater study for the understanding of the Nomads from a societal, cultural, and hierarchical basis. Helping prediction models counter Nomad operations, enhance our nomad and DKV codebreaking abilities, and develop containment measures for ongoing crises. This document outlines the observations by Bundschuh forces of how nomad activity has affected humans on an individual basis, data sourced mainly within the Rheinland region, and further extends out towards other locations affected by the Nomad infestation.

The war against the nomads has prolonged for more than 30 years, Rheinland has had to adapt for generations to the Nomad threat that has plagued our home. Even during its splintering civil war, the framework for containment has been shared between agency dissidents that have rejected the new imperial authority.

Perpetuation of Rheinland's interest in such matters to study DKV scientific methods, psychokinetic abilities, and human interaction with extra-stellar advancements, is responsible mostly by Herr Von Claussen. Agent and close partner of the Bundschuh, Order and MND (post-colony-war Direktorship). As his predictions hinted that Humans would slowly adapt overtime after long-term exposure to these materials and events would inevitably happen.

> Thralls

Humans subject to manipulation from infectees, cognitive functions may be compromised and unaware of their actions that provide assistance to Nomad sabotage.

Thralls that have been under long term influence show signs of altered brain chemistry, psionic instructions combined with control over dopamine conditioning is the most common method, this causes Thralls to pursue objectives with no regard to their well being. Suicide by combat often the remaining option to them, as any remaining rationality has been suppressed.

The possibility of recovery for any Thrall is unlikely, detainment presents risks to quarantine-operatives, so elimination is the option frequently taken. Furthermore becoming more frequent when located near known war fronts such as the Omicrons, and Thuringia.

Those that have recovered from Thrall syndrome are left with symptoms ranging from memory loss, to permanent brain chemistry alterations. Reconditioning of Thrall survivors is paramount once verified as a non-threat, although monitoring of their activities is advised to persist, and quarantine personnel placed on stand-by to intervene.

> Infectees

These humans have been compromised by a symbiotic parasite, either kidnapped and infected by force, or willingly accepting the parasite. It's unknown if intentions were solely of the Humans' decision or the result of manipulation.

They've been known to harness psionic capability similar to war forms from telekinesis, to an acute adaptation for telepathy on human targets.

DM intelligence predict that infectees act as psionic nodes for the nomad mind shares to expand its reach, the elimination of these targets result in a break of influence and have known to cause disarray with Thralls, who of which would protect their infected commanders and abandoning their self-preservation.

Infectees are also capable of subjecting opponents to psionic attacks, altering perceptions and awareness, masking their own detection and even subjecting great pain on a target if within close proximity. Several counts of cardiac arrest, neural pathway damage and even coerced suicide have been observed in their victims.

Sightings of them range from covert infiltrators whose appearance is no different to humans that are essential to corrupting chains of authority, consistently being the Nomad's favored method. Possessing humans that are within or near political elites, or corporate executive positions. So they can effectively manipulate civilians and armed forces into supporting their goals. Some are notable infectees like chancellor Chancellor Florian Gustav Niemann, Admiral Otto Schultzky, and Governor Yoshinobu Tekagi.

Alarmingly on more overt war fronts, new variations have been sighted performing infantry roles (Eg. Boarding combat), rare biologically-modified variants utilize elements of human genetic alterations, and crystalline war-forms to enhance their lethal capabilities. Akin to 'manufacturing' hybridised infectees and deploying them as heavy support. Sample retrieval of these hybrid forms is rare, and extremely unadvised. DM intelligence suggest immediate termination upon sighting of these forms. Sinclair Protocol operatives advised to perform self-termination if infection/thrallification is unavoidable.

Suspected hubs of activity:
■ Thuringia
■ Tohoku
■ Omega-58
■ Northern Omicrons
■ Orkney Proximity

> Familiars

Familiars are aware of the Nomad Influence across Sirius, furthermore holding in-depth knowledge of Dom'Kavash and Nomad activity.

Familiars are neither thralls or infectees, so risk assessments struggle to predict their detriment to the anti-nomad effort. A growing number have been sighted across Sirius, although detection and verification is still difficult, so our best deterrence has been counter-intelligence and activity monitoring of these individuals.

Hostile Familiars may hide in the small cult circles that follow nomads with religious fervor, masking their intricate dealings between the blind adoration that other expendable cultists show. There is suspicion they have individual relations directly with Nomad mind shares, rather than being biologically linked. Elimination is recommended once evidence confirms their destructive intentions.

Neutral Familiars that have dealings directly with erupting DKV or Nomad events show similar symptoms of brain chemistry alterations, those in direct opposition to the Nomads may have suffered trauma under psionic attacks too. Discretion on how to act with neutral Familiars is delegated to protocol agents present, considering their motives could either be self-fulfilling or subtly at the behest of a mind share.

Some friendly Familiars are home grown within the Protocol, especially those that have been exposed to psychokinetic elements and the front-line exploration of stellar studies. This has accumulated into 'expected adaptations' of the human condition, internally to the Damnatio Memoriae known as "Eyes in the dark"; this has been commonly seen in individuals around Rheinland. Familiars may be beneficial to the greater cause of the Sinclair Protocol. Information provided to them should be severely redacted, and purposefully tailored for them to execute goals of the protocol.

"Eyes in the dark" was originally a method of psychic defense, and is now a doctrine of mystic perceptions to aid them against the great adversary. The most prominent attempt to integrate this doctrine into praxis was within Rheinland, headed by Herr Von Claussen for deployment of a Familiar intelligence network... Its establishment failed after his disappearance.
