Summary of session four of the Akabat Summit in 836 AS

This time Commandant Rhoswan of the Division 2 Order cell was the one to bring up the next point of the agenda: The Core and their weaponized Gammu AI.

Immediately the threat was explained as a Sirius wide issue; the Core was producing more dangerous weapons by exploiting the Gammu AI and would no doubt soon begin to ship it out to the Houses. To counter this a call was made to all representatives capable of doing so, particularly the Lane Hackers, to assist in developing countermeasures against these new weapons.

Additionally, the point was raised on how to go about dealing with these Gammu AI now that they had become a somewhat prominent yet still enigmatic factor in the Omicrons.
Reactions from the representatives were mixed, ranging from acknowledging the AI as a sentient ‘species’ to seeing them as exploitable constructs. Eventually, a Freelancer who had arrived late to the summit, spoke for the first time, pointing out the risk of the Core gaining too much influence over the Houses if its technology was used, especially if it had a kill switch built in.

While the points were considered valid several representatives burst out in uproar; who was this upstart, where did they come from, who did they represent, why weren’t they informed? Admiral Golanski himself eventually had to restore order by revealing that the Freelancer was there as a guest of Admiral Solandros, who was unfortunately not present during this specific session.

In the end however the general consensus was that the AI were to be handled cautiously and if at all possible, utilized against the Core, nobody was interested in adding yet another enemy to face, especially if it wasn’t needed.

On the Core however everyone was agreed; their shipments would be harassed and their aims sabotaged, though the methods and timing might vary. The GMG however were questioned about the construction of a Core installation in the Sigma-17 system, a thorn in the side for Order supply lines as well as all the other representatives that navigated the system. Questions that remained unanswered as the GMG representatives remained uncomfortably quiet. It was decided to have another recess to give them time to formulate their thoughts.
