LIBERTY NAVY PATROL REPORT
Cadet Claire Valenzuela
Patrol turned massive firefight log:
Cadet Valenzuela checking in,
Undocked from Norfolk as fast as I could after receiving a call from Matthew Austin for a routine patrol. After undocking I met a "Interdictor"-class Battlecruiser just outside with the name Santisima Trinidad. One Lt. Pablo who I assume was in command of the vessel was asking for help regarding the location of a jump hole headed to Virginia. I was not aware of that and I made it clear to him that I was a cadet with no knowledge of that jump hole or system. After that I took my leave and went ahead to Pennsylvania to meet up with Austin.
When I arrived in Pennsylvania, Austin was speaking to a Freelancer going by the name of Coyotin. I did not get the full conversation but I did initiate a scan on their ship, a Broadsword black market bomber. (Attached scan results at the end of this report.) There has been no signs of aggression from the pilot and everything went smoothly. While that was going on another ship entered scanner range and made a beeline for us, Freelancer named The Illusionist. Quite a name even for me. Same pattern as the last ship, no aggression more on dialogue and when I also ran a scan, it was an interesting ship. It was a Thor black market bomber. The pilot claims his is a mercenary for hire and that his ship was bought second hand because his last ship, a Roc, blew up.
Austin checked it on his end and told me its fine and we moved on after getting information about a Zoner warship named Warlock+, near or in grid F3 and we proceeded to fly there. Visual was confirmed by both me and Austin and a recording is also attached. It flew fast towards and docked in Bethlehem Station. I admit I thought it cloaked when it disappeared from my sight. After that Austin gave me a refresher on sensors and scanners so that I can get a grip on checking distance between ships to be able to identify and follow them.
Couple minutes Austin got a call regarding a gathering in California and that a sizable navy force was meeting in West Point to see what was going on. We took the trade lane to California Gate and jumped and waited for orders. A minute later we got orders to move to the Texas system since it was already getting hot there.
When we arrived, the first thing I saw was the biggest battle I have ever seen. Between our navy and a pack of Xenos. There were I think 8 of them, I was not sure since everything was filled with shots from both sides. Some pirate vessels arrived as well and started shooting at us. We jumped into the fire when Austin was targeted and I moved to support him but he told me to make a run for it. I was about to complain but decided to follow orders. I was about to reach the North Dallas debris field when I lost Austin's signature, he was shot out of the sky.
I decided to fly back, to at least get some shots in, try to avenge him. I almost lost my nerve as I tried to stay calm and watch the fight continue. Both sides lost ships but it was a problem because the Xenos had a Archon on their side and was taking shots at us. The enemy ships took advantage of the California Jump hole to escape mid fight and come back while we were getting pounded.
We were given orders to finally jump in and during the firefight I lost my composure and shouted at one of the enemy ships and I quote, "Die already!". The surviving navy ships then turned the tide and we ended the battle.
I made it out alive with 5 confirmed assists to our fighters. I don't think it was enough, but it was enough to get back at them for what they did to our guys. Before we dispersed I managed to pick up Austin's escape pod by chance as I was leaving the scene. I set course back to Norfolk, landed and got Austin to the med bay, god I hope he makes a full recovery.
