Good afternoon, colleague,

Actually, is not such a "good afternoon" I’m starting to think some of you haven’t stopped by the Maldives staff bar in a while. And you know how I know? Because I know you’re a bunch of alcoholics, and the first thing you’d do walking in is order a drink.

Now picture this. You’ve been out for days, coming in from Gallia after hauling your way halfway across Sirius. You dock the ship, sign the cargo sheets, make sure everything’s squared away, head to the staff bar, drop into the couches and order yourself a nice gin and tonic.

Bartender comes over and goes, “Sorry sir, we’re out of gin.”

“No problem,” you say, “I’ll have a whiskey on the rocks.”
“Out of that too.”

“Good lord, just give me a beer then.”
“Sure. But mind that we only have Liberty Ale.”

Because ladies and gentlemen, this is the situation. Is there a war on and nobody told us? Because they’re out of— and I wrote this down because I didn’t believe it myself:

- whiskey
- rum
- gin
- vodka
- Rheinbeer
- cigars
- anything resembling food that isn’t rations or synth paste

For the love of everything holy and alcoholic, get those supplies restored.

Otherwise — and I’m speaking to management too, because I know you read everything — there will be strikes.

You’ve been warned.
Or maybe warned-womaned, I should say.
