Commander Hatcher put me on resource duty. Means keeping the Ranger war machine fed while it chews through Kansas. Not glamorous. One step up from Junkers work, if I’m being honest. Digging through scrap and calling it strategy. Still beats trusting the other Militant cells in Pennsylvania. Too many unknowns in that crowd. I’d rather know where our parts came from. We pull what we can off the pirate trains running Vespucci, Kansas, Pennsylvania. Problem is, that well only goes so far without a steady line behind it. So now we’re out in the fields, cutting up wrecks and hauling what’s left. Set up in a bigger field out in Ontario. Plenty to work with if you don’t mind getting your hands dirty. Junkers tried to muscle in a few times. Didn’t go their way. One frigate learned that lesson the hard way. Guess word travels slow. Xenos have left us alone so far. I’m not counting on that holding. Haven’t seen any Alliance ships yet either. If we do, maybe we talk. Maybe they shoot first and save us the trouble of guessing. Could go either way. We’ll keep pulling metal until something better comes along. Or until someone decides they want what we’ve got bad enough to try. --Bartlett
