SUBJECT: Approval of Survey
Hello Venator,
I wish to make a request to survey the following planets to understand their natural floral an fauna of these locations. Specific reasonings for each will be given when talking about the selection of planets. If this application is accepted I will need my ship The Lotus retro fitted into having a crush depth of around 7000+ kilometers, a diving suit with a similar crush depth, prosthetics or regenerating technology incase my body is grievously injured during my expedition, and a mixture of chemicals to test the possible effect of these organisms.
The planets I wish to survey their biosphere is:
Forres, its proximity to the Citadel allow us to both test the effectiveness of the crush depth of the ship. Along with the engineering testing due to the high temperatures of the planet leads it to be a potential breeding hub of thermophiles. It could be a possible look into proteins that can help with metallurgic manufacturing and deeper understanding in how a biosphere of mainly thermophiles operate.
Yuma, its hostile flora that has made settlements lack success seems to be a behavioral anomaly as in most system and planets over aggressive organisms tend to compete themself into extinction. This could be the cause of precursor technology or a evolutionary limit to the amount of aggression that fauna can have before running themselves into extinction. The tropical climate allow for a wide variety of extremophiles to be found as well as non-extremophiles on the planet to be studied and understood.
Borneo, its fridge climate and toxic environment allows for the study of psychrophiles and the organisms that have evolved to deal with the level of toxicity of the planet. Surveying the planet and its oceans can help find the source of toxicity whether that is the falling apart of precursor technology or just an abnormally high presence of heavy metals and other toxic elements that naturally occur in the environment.
Kurile, its saline content leads to opportunity to understand the halophilic organisms that live on the planet and potentially understand the cause of the level of saline content within the planet. Its wide range of climates yet moderate climate can also lead to the understanding of multiple types of extremophiles that are also halophilic.
Wichita, its vast size and possible depth of ocean can lead to an understanding of the piezophiles that inhabit the region and the over all moderate climate and extreme climate allow for a similar explanation to Kurile. Its oceanic composition can also lead to the geological importance to the oceans in the area and potential mega fauna that inhabit the region.
Curacao, it has been polluted due to human activity and can be a useful in understanding out to remove pollution from biospheres potentially saving the biodiversity of a swath of planets. The pollution when compared to similar organisms on other planets can find out what the pollution has done to allow the flora and fauna to evolve in such hostile environments. This can also lead to finding bacteria that grow by consuming the pollution.
These planets strike me as interesting to research due to the potential of genetic, environmental, and the potential to find precursor artifacts that have been buried deep in the oceans or geology of these worlds. I hope the engineering department finds some fun and challenge in trying to make the craft to the specifications that I requested.
I await your response, Venator, if I need to find a different Venator for the approval of this material please inform me.
