Me too. There's lots of jerks flying transports on this server who would lure you into sanction.

For Example, I was lawful and encountered a guy carrying contraband. He wouldn't drop it and tried to escape using tradelane. For a moment he stopped somewhere in the middle of it and then docked with the nearest tradelane ring agian. I thought it was just NPCs. As we reached the end of tradelane, I started to shoot him and when he was about to explode, he said, "I hope you'll love your ban, you'll be sanctioned coz you're shooting me and I don't have cargo." "I have many screenshots. Good luck in BAN". Luckily, I stopped firing in the last moment, so I didn't kill him.

Apparently, the tradelane wasn't disrupted by NPCs. He just stopped to drop the contraband the way I wouldn't see it.
This only shows that sanction reports are often misappropriated. It's the traders' main weapon which they use instead of transport turrets.

If such a case happens again, screenshot his messages and file a report for rule-lawyering and threatening you with a sanction, especially if it was done over system comms.

In my opinion, you had every right to continue the attack as you had already caught him with the contraband. It doesn't matter if he drops it out of sight in the middle of a chase.
