Very interesting, one question though, do those prices include equipping the ships with state of the art technology? Or are these prices refering to outdated seabourne ships? (as opposed to seabourne ships with modern technology)
I find it hard to believe that the gap between a fighter and a capital class ship is only 75 Million USD I'll have to look it up later but when you get into a ship that large you have to start thinking about things like: crew quarters, fuel effeciency systems, equipment to moniter and assist in maintaining the vessel, just to name a few.
For a fighter you pretty much simply make a high powered engine, throw a frame on it, give it some high powered manuvering equipment, throw a body over that, put some targeting, communications, and ordinance management equipment in it along with the control system for flying the craft and that's really about it, but for a capital ship you need all that PLUS the stated above and more, it adds up to a great deal of money, which is why 100 million for even a gunship seems alitle low to me.. Oh yeah, I almost forgot the cost of armor plating itself, plus the labor (man hours) required to produce the ship, not to mention the man hours behind designing the ship. If you can find some accurate numbers I'd love to see them, but anyways I'm starting to get really off-topic with the cost banter. lol
Edit:
Well apparently it took me awhile to post this because two posts were added prior, with your posts (McNeo & Wolfpack) I think with this kind of power upgrade the pricing suggestion by McNeo would probrably be appropriate.
