I find it hard to believe that the gap between a fighter and a capital class ship is only 75 Million USD I'll have to look it up later but when you get into a ship that large you have to start thinking about things like: crew quarters, fuel effeciency systems, equipment to moniter and assist in maintaining the vessel, just to name a few.

AIr craft carrier: 250 Million (or was it billion? I forgot)
F14 Tomcat: 2.4 Million (according to 1986 stats I have somewhere)
State of the art Raptor : 1.8 Million.
And this *INCLUDES* everything on the ships. You will *NEVER* see a brand new ship rolled out with old tech. Never. Nofrolk will never let them on the sea with that kind of crap.
