Comrades! Today is a day of both mourning and happiness for the revolution. I shall begin, as usual, with mourning. Elements of Red and Gold Wings, along with the Fearless class cruiser 'Tito, were heavily engaged by up to 15 corsair fighters, bombers, and gunboats in the eare of Omega 5, Omega 52, and Omega 41. All Coalition pilots aquitted themselves well, but the overwhelming firepower and numbers forced a general retreat. Currently, the SCRA Elements known to have engaged today are scattered thought the Omega systems. Locations for recovery cannot be given at this time, but they are all believed to be alive, if not well.
Now, the happiness: Under the Command of Commodore Ares O'jovem, approximatly a dozen corsairs were killed or driven off by a force one third their size. Lieutenant Ariel Stirrov is hereby declared a "Hero of the Revolution", and is awarded the Red Wound stripe, along with Commodore Ares (Again). Lieutenant Stirrov performed valianty under fire, driving away or destroying four enemy bombers and a gunboat, all while staunching a flow of blood. After Commander Ares was forced to disengage from yet another wound, she bravely led the attacking forces away from his crippled ship. Kalashnikov's has been instructed to provide free drinks all around, excellent work comrade.
All pilots, stand by for a re-organization of Red and Gold wings, be prepared to have your fighters repainted.
