OC alliance gear + Sair alliance gear on same ship = no, even if you have a generic ID. Actually, I know you saw it because it was a person named Black_Pearl who was generic pirate ID with sair and OC stuff and you posted in the thread to keep it clear that it wasn't your Black.Pearl. Ship and gear say a lot. ID says more, but you have to take the whole package in.

My point was that the equipment and ship don't make the Pirate ID part of that faction. I was using the Corsair weapons as an example ... take a look at the forest once in a while.

Same situation here ... Pirate ID + Liberty Rogue GB + 3 Order Turrets + 3 Zoner Turrets ... what does that make me? Am I a Liberty Rogue? Am I a member of the Order? Or am I a Zoner?

Tic toc ... time's up ... I'm a Pirate. Why ... because I have a Pirate ID.

Here's the rule you are referring to. ID, IFF, ship, equipment must match "as closely as possible." Doesn't say anything about a Pirate ID with Corsair weapon and Rogue ship. It "specifically" mentions a Corsair (i.e. someone with a Corsair ID) flying Outcast equipment/ship.

Quote:6.2 Out of Roleplay (OORP):
In-game tag seen before the name must match the ID as closely as possible. It is not allowed to have the tag not match ID category. For example, it is prohibited to have 'Police' tag and 'Pirate' ID.

Equipment used must match tag and ID as closely as possible. For example, it is not allowed for Corsairs to use Outcast ships and guns.

Here is another very important rule. This one says you have to role play based on the ID ... not the IFF ... not the ship ... not the equipment. The equipment/ship/IFF limitation is discussed in 6.2 above. Rule 6.6 here is talking about a Corsair ID'd character firing on a Pirate ID'd character because he has a Rogue ship. You really should go by the ID. Notice what it says about non-RP attacks ... its "considered PVP abuse." So just because YOUR Blood Dragon ID'd character (or whatever) doesn't like what my Pirate ID'd character flies ... doesn't give you the right to attack me. Kinda like the Outcast Destroyer that attacked Black Pearl because I have Order and Zoner guns on my Rogue GB. And he did this at Yanagi.

Quote:6.6 PvP combat is allowed only on roleplay basis. The pilot who is attacking must scan for an ID prior to the attack. Relying on general reputation status (red/neutral/green) without scanning for the ID is not allowed.

Non-RP attacks are considered PvP abuse and are sanctioned accordingly.

And here's a beautiful rule to keep in mind. Please note that generic ID's "indicate characters that did not join an NPC faction." While they maintain reputations with these factions ... they are not part of these factions. So me in a Rogue GB ... does not make me a Rogue ... and it does NOT make me enemies of whoever Rogues are enemies with. It just means that I'm friendly enough (neutral at worst case) to buy their ship. Also notice that this rule states "if any tag is available." That means I can be a Pirate ID'd character with NO IFF. So all you rule lawyers that have given me trash talk in-game for being a pirate with no IFF (tag in front of my name) ... you can cease and desist cause you're breaking a rule yourself by lecturing me about it. One other thing ... generics are not allowed in cruisers or battleships ... that means we CAN pirate in gunboats (yet another one for you rule lawyers.)

Quote:6.9 Generic IDs (Military ID, Freelancer ID, Pirate ID, Trader ID, Smuggler ID) indicate characters that did not join an NPC faction, but still maintain appropriate reputation with those factions, and appropriate faction tag, if any tag is available.

All rules that apply to ID types apply to generic IDs as well. Trader and Smuggler IDs are considered Trader IDs. All generic ID owners are not allowed to use cruisers and battleships.
