I don't know but the thought occured to me that when the cap ships fire there missiles are to small to see let alone hit let alone stop or maybe you cant stop them. But anyway I was thinking maybe you need giant torpedos launched by capital ships for other capital ships might need a missile ship or maybe on a certain type of battleship an then maybe they take 5 hits or 8 hits to kill a cap ship I dont know

e.g.
Dreadnaught 12
battleship 8 torpedos
destroyer an maybe cruiser 5
Gunship 3
anything smaller can kiss themselves good bye with 1

Capital ships should have a limited supply it would make for good role play like e.g.

This is the SanFrancisco were taking Torpedo hits requesting fighter support immediately.

What the hell are you guys doing out there were still taking hits *insert squadron name*

We can't take anymore hits one more and we are dead.

That last Torpedo hit took out the engines were sitting ducks keep those torpedos off us.

Now the torpedos themselves should be able to be hit by fighters that ram themselves into them albeit it would kill them as well as be shot down by smaller fighter craft an they should be slow moving or at least fast enough to get to there target have homing ability to follow an still outrun a large ship at max speed.

Maybe something like a carrier with flak turrets can shoot them down but im a bit iffy on this because by the time the torpedo got in range Im sure the turrets would not be able to make a mess of the torpedo in time an the torpedo explosion yield would surely damage the intended ship a bit still.

sorry if this sounds old school just the concept of being able to intercept big missiles an target them like a ship would be mint
