Alec "Artemis" Korbin

So begins the life story of a one Alec Korbin.....

Orphaned at the Los Angeles Orphanarium at birth, Alec had very few memories of his early childhood. Adopted to a abusive and alchoholic man named Merv Korbin and his wife Jane, he had a rough childhood With constant beatings from his uncle who ran the equipment store at Beaumont Base. Alec had no choice but to fall in and grow up with the "rough crowd" that frequented the base. After years of having run-in's with the Liberty Navy, Alec stared to contemplate escaping Beaumont. His timing soon came when he was hiding in an undercover Bounty Hunter ship. It was then he noticed the screens blinking with a bounty for his uncle. He then found a gun hidden within the ship and then proceded to find his uncle and then shoot him in cold blood.

After a couple of days, Alec made contact with the BH who's callsign was "Althalus" and demanded the reward for his uncle. Althalus reconised the boys potential and took him back to Houston with him. After a few years training with his mentor, Alec was excited he was going on patrol in the Sigma 13 system with Althalus. After a few hours patroling for pirates near the New Berlin jump hole when all of a sudden, a group of Wild came out of the gas clouds and ambushed them. As the two of them fought for there lives Alec noticed a strange ship appear from nowhere and with alien weapons effortlessly obliterate Althalus. The alien ship then turned to Alec and got of a few shots and then all of a sudden a squadron of fighters came from behind the alien ship and unleashed a payload of beautiful hellfire. Upon being hit from the alien's weapons and as the ships hull decompressed, Alec then blacked out.

Upon coming to, he discovered he was in a unformiliar enviroment. Alec started to panic when a doctor entered the room and calmed him down. The doc then informed Alec on what happened, telling him the alien ship he had seen was a Nomad Keeper and he was extremely lucky to be alive. When Alec asked the doc about his friend, the doc just put his hand on Alec's shoulder and said "Sorry mate but his ship was obliterated down to the last tiny atom. For all it's worth he didn't feel a thing". Vowing then and there Alec
was going to hunt down every Nomad in existance and make them pay, Thus Alec Korbin was truly born. The doc asked him if there was anything he could do but all Alec asked was where he was, all the doc's reply was "Ohh welcome to Planet Toledo".

Upon spending a few hours in the Sickbay, Alec had pondered his future, when a man in a Order uniform entered to room "Alec Korbin, callsign "Althalus",what are we going to do with you my dear boy?" he asked. "Sir? what do you mean?" Alec replied uncertain what to make of it. "No need to worry my boy, I just came down with a proposition for you. How would you like to join the Orders elite fighter squadron?"
"Sir i'm honored but what make you think i'm good enough to join, I mean you dont even know who I am."
The man just laughed. "Alec, we have your file, you are an exceptional pilot for you age and even the Bounty Hunter's Guild reconised your potential. Put it this way son, if we offer a place, it means we think you have the guts to make it". Alec just sat there thinking for a moment. "Ok sir, since I got nothing to really return too and if it gives me the chance to blast some Nomads, i'll do it". A smile grew on the mans face "Well how about we start fresh, my name is Sius Malacos and you Alec Korbin have been granted the rank of Crewman. Let me see, I think you need a new callsign". "I agree sir, it's time for a new life, a clean slate. How does Artemis sound sir?" Alec said with some uncertanty in his voice. "Hmmmm sounds mighty fine to me son" Sius stopped for a moment and reached into a pocket and withdrew a flask, then proceded
tounscrew the lid and he looked around for some cups. After a moment he gave Alec a cup of the clear and possibly alchoholic liquid "Crewman Alec "Artemis" Korbin, I Vice Admiral Sius "SwissScorch" Malacos, hereby induct you into the Black Squadron"

After stepping out of the transport ship and onto Lisbon Station, Sius showed Alec the hanger bay. Upon enter the bay, Sius led Alec to a rather new looking ship. "She's a beauty ain't she, just off the production line from Evora, the 015A Nephthys and she's all yours" All Alec could do was give a stammering thank you and nod his head. "As you can see Crewman, some of the other pilots have personalized theirs.
Feel free to..*comm device went off*..Hello, ahh Ascendancy, what can..*garbled voices*..roger that, i'll be right there. Sorry about that Alec but I have very pressing business somewhere else, when your ready just find someone else and ask tell them your a new recruit. They'll know what to do". And without out any further commoment, Sius left Alec in the hanger and disappered. Alec turned back around to his ship and started having a closer look. "Sius was right, she is a beauty. Maybe i'll call you the Succubus, Yeah that sound good". At that exact moment, alarms went off and the hanger doors groaned as they opened. In flew another Nephthys which skillfully glided to its destination. After a few minutes, the cockpit suddenly opened and a man in an Order uniform climbed out. He then notice Alec looking at him and waved him over. "Do I know you? Ahh I know, you must be Alec, the new guy. I'm known as Satori, pleased to meet you" he said holding out his hand. "Yes sir, i'm Alec and it's also a pleasure to make your aquaintance. If you have time can you please show me to the barracks because Mr Malacos had urgent business elsewhere and left me here". Satori just laughed "Hahaha oh god, that does sound like old Swissy, anyway sure. I'm not due back out there for about 6hrs". Satori then removed his helmet and rubbed his eyes "God I need some more sleep,but hey, i'm not gonna argue with the higher ups. Come on kid, lets go". Here then led Alec through a maze of hallways and doors until they stopped outside the door with Barracks on it. "Well kid, this is the Barracks. You better get some shut-eye also because in the morning, the fun begins".........
