**OOC** Just continuing the story, so as to build up an event will coincide with Nakazawa's RP... we have something planned.... Also, my character bios ahve been updated if you care to know (link is in the sig).

Also, don't hesitate to post an RP reply if it suits you.

**IC**
The sounds of police sirens broke the calm typical of a tropical Kusari night. The wind blew softly amongst the trees ominously as a police hovercruiser slowed to halt, giving off a soft pulsating noise as its generators hummed. Two elite Kusari officers stepped out of the vehicle and drew their handguns, cocking the pistols. Using their large size, they formed a human shield for a small man, who just clambered out of the car. He too was armed, but mostly hidden beneath the shiny armor of his police escorts.

"TKT Lieutenant," he whispered quietly, so as not to create any noise. "What is the hour?"

"Nearly midnight. They should be here any moment, Tokei-Tai General, sir," said one policeman in a gruff voice. "Their messenger will have the codes."

"Alright," he replied, again a whisper. He shivered suddenly. The night had just gotten colder.

A bang suddenly shattered the silence. "TKT Lieutenant, what was that?" asked the started general.

"I'm not sure," replied the gruff lieutenant. "Corporal Saiso, did you see anything?" Saiso did not respond, standing still with his gun in defensive position.

"Saiso!" commanded the lieutenant, slightly louder before shaking his companion. A sticky red fluid began running down the corporal's shiny armor. Saiso had a blank stare, and a charred entry would right between his eyes.

"What the... General, get down!" In the time it took the lieutenant to realize what had happened, a hidden sniper expertly reloaded his high-powered rifle and took aim, putting an explosive tipped round right into the lieutenant's neck, which exploded, decapitating the man.

"Dear Eris!" whimpered the general who randomly fired a few shots at the nearby buildings before leaping into the cruiser and driving off, staring backwards in fear. In his haste, the general failed to watch his driving, and the policecruiser hurtled off a small cliff into the expansive ocean that covered the planet's surface.

"Mission accomplished," said a voice as a radio responded a staticy reply, "Excellent. Return to base for debriefing."

On New Tokyo, a man walked down a hall in a secret facility built into one of the few mountains on the planet. He was trailed by two scientists, each wearing stainless, white labcoats with folders of documents and files in their hands. Neither were very high in the hierarchy of Unit 450, and saw this as an opportunity to earn a promotion.

The trio paused momentarily, revealing the man for the first time. He wore a crisp black suit, a black shirt, and a black tie, which when put together seemed to make him fade into the darkness. Perhaps that was the intent.

Seeing the man pause, one of the scientists quickly offered the directions.

"Silence, you pathetic excuse for a scientist," commanded the man menacingly. "You think that I do not know my way around this facility?! My men designed it. I am listening."

The two scientists, unable to hear anything, wanted to ask what he was listening for, but restrained themselves, fearing his reaction. But the man heard it. Almost inaudible, but still present. It was the sound of screams and pain and suffering. The man grinned.

Chuckling loudly, much to the puzzlement of the scientists, the man continued walking down the barren hall, making twisty turns every so often until he reached a large vault, labeled with a plaque, "The X Project". Again the two scientists stepped forward, to place their fingerprints and do retina scans in order to enter, but the man pushed them aside.

"Sir, you need two people with clearance to--" but much to their surprise, the door clicked in recognition and opened, whlie a robotic voice announced, "access granted".

"Sir, if you don't mind me asking, how deep do you go?" asked the second scientist, speaking for the first time.

"I do mind," was the man's reply.

Seeing his irritation, the two scientists immediately tried to impress the man, leading him to one of the rooms containing one of their prototype weapons, tagged as X102. Moderately interested, the man picked up the weapon and examined it, before suddenly pointing it at the first scientist and firing. The startled man collapsed in a painful spasm, writhing on the ground in pain from the electrical shock that permeated his body.

The man threw the gun down in disgust. "It's not lethal."

"Well, sir," the second scientest tried to explain, "this weapon is for disabling enemies and--"

"Terminate the project. It is a waste of funds. We have enough non-lethal weapons as it is. If you can't kill with it, I don't want it. A crowbar would be better than that."

"Yes, sir," was all the scientist could say.

Realizing that the man was more irritable than before, the second scientist glanced back at his still-writhing companion before leading the man to a second room in the complex.

"What does this X003 do?" asked the man after looking at the sign.

"The X003," said the scientist with a hint of pride, "is one of our oldest projects. It's a biological weapon that can selectively destroy a nation based on genetics. Currently, it only works against the Kusari people, but we are adapting it for functionality against the Bretonians. Unfortunately, the spores are currently not contagious and --"

"So," the man cut in with a mean smirk, "how long have you been 'adapting' the organism against Bretonia?"

"Well, four years but you must understand that its only--"

"Four years?! You must be joking, Professor. This is what you have to show me? A disease that cannot spread itself and only works against our own people. Do you think this is humorous, because I can assure you, Professor, you are walking on thin ice. Waste of funds."

The man walked out of this room as well, now thoroughly disgusted. "Take me to X777, professor."

"Um, sir. That.. well... Sir, the thing is, I can't do that. X777 is not one of my supervised experiments."

The man grinned even more widely. "I know. It is mine, for the Tokei-Tai."

*****

The scientist gasped when he saw the contents of room X777. There was a naked woman, half encased in a metallic alloy, strapped up to various tubes and wiring. A plaque on her helmet read, "Subject X777. Origin 06-06-06-1988. Identification 0777-66. Project Unit 450." Her eyes glowed a frightening red hue.

A nearby meter indicated that incubation period was due for completion in 10 days, 08 hours, 43 minutes.

Distractedly, the man put his face up the glass casing in which the woman was held, whispering, "Welcome to life, my dear."

He suddenly snapped back to reality, straightening his black tie before walking out of the room, trailed by the downtrodden scientist. The door closed behind the two.

"Tell me, professor," said the man, suddenly cheery. "Do you have any other projects?"

"Sir, I've shown you all them already."

"Good."

The scientist collapsed to the ground, his coat painted crimsom. Clutching the knife in his belly, the scientist turned to his side, in a rapidly expanding puddle of blood.

"I'm sorry but it had to be done. There are some things you just aren't supposed to see." The man smirked again, pulling the short kodachi out and wiping it clean on the scientist's lab coat. "Don't worry. I'll put a recommendation for you to receive an honorary award on behalf of the Kusari nation for your work. Perhaps even a Takoji-Nobel Prize."

The man walked away. He had no such intention.

We are coming.
