If the Outcasts steamroll Yanagi, there goes the resupply depot for both the Corsairs and the Outcasts in the Sigmas. Remember, its the only pirate-friendly base in the sigma systems.

Secondly, if you steamroll Yanagi, im pretty sure most of the Junkers would place an embargo on your product. You seem to think that the sword beats the pen, when its really the other way around.

There are always consequences, financial, industrial or military. No nation so dependant on one source of income would throw it away like that over a dispute to do with a single station. The Corsairs wouldn't either. If it were the other way around, we wouldn't be in the best position to take any action at all. Both the Corsairs and the Outcasts are very dependant on the Junkers shipping their produce across all corners of the sector. Neither would want to throw it away over a single delegate. Well, at least I wouldn't. I think the Corsair Elders think the same way too. Minus Gentle of course, hes a nutcase.

Politics can be easily ignored because of the mechanics of Freelancer. There are no consequences for your actions. But imagine if Trafalgar and Rochester suddenly shut their doors to Cardimine trade. Sure, the Junkers would lose say 30% of their profit. Outcasts would suffer a lot more, however. But, I suspect that its usually economic action that follows military agressiveness. The same thing would happen if the Corsairs took military action against the Junkers of Yanagi, only the other way around.

You dont have to look very far to see examples of this.

Try to think about this as a politician rather than a player in a fictional game. This is roleplay, after all.

Also, adressing one of Dabs particular points out of the many he made of which I cared not to read (as there were so many), the British defence minister is a Scot, as is the Prime minister, decendants of the area that is trying to devolve governmental power from the houses of politics in London, thereby making it a different country.
Would that not mean that an outsider would be having a bearing (even overall control in our case) on our way of life and our country?

It wasnt so long ago, perhaps eight hundred years or so, that the Scottish and the British were at each others throats. Thats about the time Sirius had been colonised, but those factions still havent managed to coexist peacefully together. Isn't it about time they started to catch up?

As a note, I now have no bearing on what the Corsair council does. I simply advise when I feel I need to input something, which is very rarely nowadays.
