Pirate? Try: UOG, MRM(?), SCRA, SOB, LWB, XA, RoS, 101st, LR or LSF:P
Most of those are main-steram, a few are un-official...and some are struggling.

Depends on how good your RP, PvP, language and knowlege of the rules is like.

I would solo for a while just to figure out how Discovery roles. Jumping streight into a faction streight of the bat, is like jumping into a pool of hot flames and acid 50m deep.

And if your going to buy a capital ship and start a faction, make sure you have your acid/flame proof vest on...Your going to need it.:)
