See above. It's widely rumored that Coalition spies snuck aboard the Hispania and set off charges that caused it to go much slower reaching Sirius. This is also the main canon of the SCRA, why they came to Sirius in the 1st place.
I believe that the Coalition were the main cause of this because the Nomads were watching humanity literally tear itself apart in the war. The Alliance wanted peace, but the Coalition decided to attack them as they powered down their ships. When the Nomads saw humanity continue to tear itself apart (Coalition was attacking, Alliance was defending), they deemed them unworthy to live. Of course, I'm also biased against the Coalition.
That's true I think. The SCRA blew up the engines on the Hispania and then left and founded the SCRA.
