Understanding 'The Order'.

And just as a very basic description-

The Order is a group that was originally started by a branch of the LSF. It grew from a secret special-ops organization into a group with the sole intent of protecting all humans from alien threats. While houses and factions waged 'petty' wars against one another, aliens such as the nomads, infected humans (wild), and phantoms were encroaching on Sirius with the intent to destroy any human presence whenever and wherever it was encountered. The Order saw this threat when nobody else did, and took action to fight against it.

The Order has been branded a terrorist group for two reasons:
1. Stealing Classified Liberty Research and Prototype Vessels
2. Attacking nomad-infected targets

While the order knew they were protecting humanity by attacking such nomad-infected targets, everyone else thought they were committing terrorist attacks and targetted assassinations against the leaders of the Sirius Houses. This has caused them to be branded as criminals and terrorists, while the Houses covered up any information that may prove otherwise.

In modern times, The Order still exists (and has grown) in order to serve it's original purpose: Protecting humanity from alien threats. The Nomads are still a threat, but not as large a threat as they were 16 years ago during the nomad war. The Wild are more of a threat now than the nomads once were, and there are other alien groups - such as the phantoms - which attack the houses of sirius with the intent of overthrowing all human power in this region of space.
