Agnus Dei Conversion

My name is Markus Krause. I am a former Rheinland Military pilot; however, the job didn't pay enough for my tastes, and so I started to explore new regions for gaining credits, most of them on the other side of the fine line that is the law. I soon realized that the few lawful ventures I was entrepreneuring weren't nearly as profitable as the "other" ones. Therefore, I began to sink confortably into a routine of going to my day-to-day job at the Rheinland Military, and completing less acceptable tasks in my free time. Unfortunately for me, one of my accomplices snitched on me for a generous reward from the police, and I was soon taken into custody for fraud, piracy, thieving, and worse. I managed to get a very reputed lawyer with most of the money I had saved up for such a misfortunate event. The judge and jury heard my case, and luckily my lawyer lived up to his reputation and came up with some very convincing arguments and faux evidence. Therefore, I was sentenced to merely 2 years in a high-security prison facility with possible parol. However, I had made some connections in prison, and my gambling spirit came up; so I had bet all my earnings that I had hidden so they wouldn't be seized by the court on me getting out of prison before two years passed. A year passed, and I was let out on parol. I was ready to collect my winnings, when an assault force of Das Wilde pilots uncloaked and began a heavy assault on the prison station. Most of the prisonners died in the attack, and those that didn't were loaded onto a prison liner, which flew away from the scene while Rheinland Military pilots fought a heavy battle. So many people had died that day, including the people to whom I had bet my earnings. As soon as the prison liner staff understood that I was to be let free, they dropped me off on Planet New Berlin; coincidentally the same planet on which I had hidden most of the loot. I soon found out that my fellow prisonners had secretly requested from their outside contacts to claim what they thought to be theirs. I had lost eveything, and the more I thought about it, the more I felt angry and ashamed. Angry at the creatures that had done this to me, and ashamed at my selfish acts If I had done my job as a Rheinland Military pilot, maybe I could have helped in the attack instead of relatively safe in a prison liner. Maybe less would have died that day. I turn to Agnus Dei today to request forgiveness from my sins, and any kind of retaliation against the evil that I now realise threatens us all.
