Alexander Swift

This is a story of aspirations, of dreams, of youth that is forced to grow up prematurely. By this humble beginning, a great saga begins. A story of a young man, that stared into the eyes of death long before anyone should. Prepare to embark on an incredible journey filled with danger, intrigue and adventure.

First let me start off by telling you some of his history, if you deem it important.
Alexander Swift, son of Michael and Christine, used to live in a rather small city called Croatia, which was located on one of the colonies in the Crayter sector, and had quite a future ahead of him.
Although he was only 7, he already knew what he wanted to become - an Ergos pilot, just like his father.
He had always fantasized about flying that magnificent ship and spraying his bullets into the enemies of The Fleet, the pirates, the scum of the earth.
But unfortunately, on one fateful day, it happened! The cosmic catastrophe that wrecked all that the settlers had built.

Little Alexander was just playing with a toy viper in his room, when his father ran in there, and quickly grabbed him. He had no time to explain what was happening, he just took him to one of the transports that were taking off from the nearby ground-to-orbit port. He and Alexander's mother were talking, and were both excited and scared. They explained to their little son, that he was in danger.
His father said with his soft and loving voice:
"Son, don't be scared. It is all going to be okay. We're taking you somewhere safe."
"Will you come with me, daddy? Will you?"
"No son, I'm afraid your mother and me won't be able to be with you. But we WILL catch up with you. Don't you worry. And remember son..always remember..your mother and I love you more than anything. Don't you ever forget that, ever. And in case something bad does happen, I ask of you only one thing: Be an honest man. Save your anger for your enemies, and your love and compassion for your friends."
He took him from the vehicle into the ship, and he and Christine kissed and hugged their son, hoping that they would see him again."

Apparently, his father had somehow managed to get him a ticket on the sleeper ship that was departing the colonies into the unknown, he gave his son the greatest gift of all. He gave him a ticket to a life anew, before his old one even started.

However, nothing was heard of them later, and they were presumed dead. Little Alexander still hoped they would magically appear though. He was too young to understand the concept of death, and this event scarred him for life.

And there you have it, although his whole family died, he avoided his deadly fate in one of the rescue ships.
