Ghosts of the Past...

The Unrelenting as it was known was no more. The damage was so extensive that SiN Tech scrapped it. They removed the weapons and sensitive technologies, then sold the remains to the Junkers who were more then happy to lay their hands it. With the proceeds, for even that much scrap will catch a hefty price, they bought a new ship. An Assault Frigate, purchased with bribes and more then a little blackmail to the Liberty Navel Authority. Obviously, not a word of this reached the public. All anyone knew was that SiN Tech was now the proud owners of a very dangerous frigate, christened the Unrelenting in memory of it's predecessor.

It was the new Unrelenting that the AW guard saw approaching out of the Sigma 17 jump hole, escorted by the Lambda wing of Eagle fighters.
"Attention AW Command on Freeport 9, this is the SiN Tech Frigate Unrelenting. We are requesting permission to dock and to speak with your commanding officer."

The room was black, empty, like the vastness of space. And then from the darkness came light, illuminating a black monolith with writing upon it.
Director 01
*Audio Only*
An American voice came from the monolith, speaking into the emptiness.

"I hope that the loss of the Unrelenting will not reflect current practices with our vessels. We cannot afford to loose our fleet."

A new monolith was lit, Director 02 this time. His voice would imply that of a Kusari businessman.

"Of course not. The Unrelenting was a fluke. It will not happen again."

Director 03, a Britonian professor.

"It had better not. I assume that we will be looking for better protection from the AW if we are intent in our goals?"

Director 05, this one a women from Rheinland.

"That ist a given. They would do well to make sure we are quite secure."

Director 04, also female. The slight hiss of an inhaler gave her away as an Outcast.

"Do not presume that the AW will act in any certain way. I am of the firm belief that their leader is criminally insane."

Director 03 gave a slight chuckle.

"You would, my dear. I have not seen such insanity, but then again I don't have to live with them on my doorstep, do I?"

Another monolith, Director 06, came to life. This one's gravelly Hispanic accent indicated a Corsair.

"For those of us who do, his reckless tactics and god-complex are quite apparent. But as long as he leaves us alone, we get along fine."

A hologram appeared, revealing a rather busty women. She was beautiful and immaculately dressed, from her black corset and red undershirt down to her black pants and ruby-red stiletto high-heals. Her long and sharpened nails were painted red, and a glowing blue pendant hung at her neck. One would assume that she was an average, frankly sultry women. However, one flash of her coldly calculating eyes and that illusion was banished. There was no doubt that this was Elexis Sinclare', the founder of SiN Tech Industries and also it's top geneticist.

Her image smiled, a believable one but her eyes gave that away.

"No need to fret, dear directors. I can assure you that everything is quite under control."

Director 01 spoke up.

"And if it isn't?"

Elexis turned to the monolith.

"Then someone will pay. I will personally sign the End Certificate for the one who crosses out path."

That evidently satisfied the Directors, as nobody spoke about it. Elexis gave the other Monoliths her smile, again seeming genuine.

"If there are no other points to bring up, shall we continue as we have?"

Silence again. Elexis' smile grew a little bigger.

"Excellent! Then I shall proceed as we have planned."

One by one, the Directors' monoliths switched off leaving Elexis' hologram in the room. Her smile changed. Not in any discernable form, but it changed from that of appeasement to that of a shark spotting a fat and lazy morsel of food.

"Exactly as I have planned." The hologram switched off, and once more the room was dark.
