Rescaling the Kusari Destroyer

Lost my head last night, having to repeat myself over and over again for people too lazy to read the thread. Apologies for that.

And before you go crazy Ashes, I'm not addressing that statement towards you.

Any gunboat in a group fight with more than 3 ships is dead, ANY.

Wrong. Me, Tycho, Eva fought and won vs 7-8 RM fighters/bombers with 2 Gunboats and a Destroyer.

Me and Ench won vs 5~ fighters, 2 Orca, a LN Gunboat, a bottlenose and to top it off a Battlecruiser came along when everything else was dead, and we killed that too, all with two Gunboats and a Barghest who came to help us.

Three ships once came to kill me near Alcatraz, a Gunboat, a Bomber and a Fighter. I killed the Gunboat and the Bomber and the fighter flew away.

Seriously, is this so hard to understand.
It is a small Cruiser.
Others are big cruisers.

What you fail to understand is that the Kusari Destroyer can still be a small Cruiser without being half the size of every other Cruiser in the game. So explain to me again why it needs to be the size of a Gunboat.

All I gleaned from rereading your responses on this thread is that you keep repeating the 'Why not' question. :|

Because everyone thus far has failed to come up with an answer. Instead they try to pass off my difficult question by asking more, irrelevant questions which have already been asked.

So go on, give it a go. Tell me why the Kusari Dessie needs to be the size of a Gunboat. Bet you can't.

I say this issue is most common with the Gunboat, which truly is the size of a heavy bomber, with the stats of an average gunboat and not say, the BHG gunship, along with a forward gun. These two cases of ships basically acting like a ship twice their size can indeed feel weird to many people. They have indeed, as I've said, been mostly given a run over in terms of balance, it doesn't totally remove the inherent issue with being so unaturally small, an issue which I've found is most visable in group fights and attempts at evasion. These are my personal observations with a long history of dealing with these ships and having amicable relationships with those that use them.

While being small, the Kusari Gunboat is still bigger than every bomber. I was going to make a post about it as well, but comparing it's size with Bombers in HardCMP shows it doesn't really need to. It's got a relatively small front profile, yes, but it's very long, far longer than any bomber.

Bah, you were saying it's not overpowered, but you are saying it.

Not my problem if you're misinterpreting what I say. I believe the Kusari Dessie is balanced, but it breaks the balance of all the ships that surround it. Everyone is whining, saying the Kusari Dessie is not unbalanced or overpowered, and I tend to agree. But it makes other ships it fights underpowered, like the Dragon Cruiser and Bretonian Gunboat.

Meh. Just give it a bit less armor and fire power. Kusari one is smaller and moves faster, Bretonian one has more armor and fire power.

Kusarian could be a "light cruiser".
End of Story.

Once again, the Kusari Destroyer is balanced. Simply offering a 'quick fix' in the form of a nerf will not change anything. I'm not trying to make the Kusari Dessie weaker, just bigger.

Furthermore, last i heard, Kusari was getting a Battlecruiser in .86, so they would have the 'heavy cruiser firepower' issue sorted, while still having a small and agile light destroyer.

A light Cruiser does not have to be the size of a Gunboat. Thresher is x1.6 the size of a Kusari Dessie, and it's still a Light Cruiser. LSC is roughly twice the size of a Kusari Dessie, and is still a light Cruiser. It will still be a Light Cruiser regardless of how much bigger we make it.

Why are we having this discussion?

Tell me why the Kusari Destroyer needs to be the size of a Gunboat and I'll ask a mod to lock it.

No one is ignoring what Ashes has said. Her points have all been addressed.
