Kane, don't know if you were writing to me or just people in general but anyhoo:
I have the utmost respect for people that actually role play in here, so far daedalus is the only one getting that respect since he's the only one I've met ingame of the role players here. :P
Heh, were even in a battle against daedalus at one point, although I didn't notice it for all the other pirates that were attacking. :D
People like that I won't complain about or anything, I will just give them the credit (not money) they deserve for actually taking the time to role play so.

The reason some factions toll players is to fund their military and pay for equipment that goes to the faction.

Oh yeah, completely forgot about that one. To me that more or less sounds like you're saying: We're too lazy to actually earn the money ourself, so therefore we'll harass other players to give us money. :P
And, after looking at the taxes, it would probably be easier to earn the money yourself, it would both be faster and easier. To tax other people first of all requires that there even are other people to tax, and you can't be certain that people will be anywhere near you. Besides that they might not even pay up, and instead fight you, and thereby having a, albeit probably small, chance of blowing you up. Or just F1'ing out of there. :)
