to add into this, i know im taking it out of the game but:
wouldn't you defend your wife on your own against 3+ robbers? no matter what the odds?
well i would. and so thats how i would rp it out. ( since in theory thats whats you are doing ingame? defending yours but also other peoples families until reinforcements come to help?) since otherwise that capship would bombard the planet and kill your family, would you stand idly in rp? no you wouldnt.
I would understand if you fleed from a different system, say delta.
But home systems and planets. should be defended no matter what the costs are.

(Edit: But only if you are logged on, and in that system, if you are not then its your choice)
