After his reunion with the fleet, he was granted the rank of ensign once more, and given a Nyx space superiority fighter with a basic setup.
It was so much different than his old Eros, and the feeling was different as well. Advanced shield technology, state of the art IMG weapons, it had it all. His most prized piece of hardware was the Mini Razor, mainly because of his admiration for the way it could simply shred any fighter left shieldless to little bits, and it was almost as if it said: "Enemies beware, cower and flee, or die upon my wrath." At least that is what was passing through his mind.

Although he was happy with this, he still gazed jealously at the weapons of the higher ranked officers.
He was prepared to work harder than ever, and couldn't wait to earn a promotion, and to show everyone just how good he is - or how good he thought he was.

But, he was still considered a pilot in training, although he did have previous combat experience.
It is true, however, that because of the extensive changes of the ship, many of the things he knew(although he did forget a lot during his absence) simply did not apply anymore.
And so his, re-training if you will, began.
He spent countless hours on the simulator and in space. His flight instructor bothered him with various lessons and practices, but Alexander did not mind. He was eager to learn and improve, for it was the difference between life and death in Sirius.
