Personally ... I'm tired of seeing //GF in system chat when people battle to the death.
And it gets old when people just HAVE to get their kill when the guy they're attacking says "I give up" or "please don't kill me ... please!" The only reason for a fight to the death is that the guy needs to brag about it and post the explosion shot on his faction's message dump ... thus gaining points toward a faction promotion ... and so he can get a step closer to getting permission to buy that capship he always wanted.
There is no such thing as mercy here. I've tried to get folks to role play mercy. Many times I've come across a VHF in my gunboat and I just sit there speaking with them. All the while this guy's calling in his backup. He does nothing until his support arrives. Why can't he just role play with me and we part company in peace? I coulda destroyed his ship right there. I didn't have to wait for his support to get there. Even when I'm attacked by a less capable vessel ... I plead not to be shot at ... or I'll wait for his friends to get there and plead for them to allow me to go about my own business. Now I've gotta give LN some credit here. There are 2 or 3 in Liberty now that will show mercy ... but then there are the new guys that get overzealous and go for the jugular ... even while LN is telling them to back down.
