I think I fly in somewhat elitist circles...I choose whom I interact with rather carefully, more or less. I've not had a bad experience since coming back, except for a few pirating disasters. Characters aren't allowed to sit still and talk, anymore. Pirates tend to want you moving along really quickly...
I think the biggest problem is trust. We don't know who we're dealing with, and we don't trust them not to drop us. but, then..don't you want that kill, too?
