@ Spear: I don't have a problem with loadouts so much as I have issue with what they do with them. A good combat fleet would have a variety of weapons for various targets. For example ... missile boats are just as important as gunboats. Individually they each are weak in certain settings. But together they compensate for each other's weaknesses. For example ... missiles turrets on a gunboat are great for fending off fighters and bombers because you don't have the issue of aiming the guns to hit the target. But missiles against other gunboats are useless. So gunboats to deal with other gunboats and better ... but missile boats to deal with fighters. When I see a gunboat that has missile turrets mounted on it ... I typically don't worry much for my safety.
Now ... I mentioned what you do with them. If you're in a battleship with the uber-kill weapons that literally melt the hulls of gunboats without effort ... a bit annoying. Battleships in the hands of a house military ... perfectly acceptable. But in the hands of a hunter or merc ... well ... maybe one ... but not 3-5 battleships or battle cruisers massed together to kill a single pirate gunboat. Overkill at Yanagi Depot ... not cool.
