It's been some time since I've been on active duty. After a run in with a wing of Outcast forces, I was in very bad shape. I recieved minor brain damage from oxygen deprivation and had of a bit a psychotic episode while in an intensive care division on the Niigata. It was an... unfortunate experience, but it's behind me now. The doctors assure me that I am fit for duty, albeit a short shift.
I met up with Taro at the Naha and we took position on guard. The traffic was minimal and nothing of interest showed itself, so I left Taro in charge and made way for Honshu to pick up some Debilitators for my Viper Mk-II.
When I arrived in Honshu, I came across two pilots duking it out fiercely. One was a mercenary in a Rheinland Bomber, the other a civilian in a Kadesh Scout. I demanded to know what they were fighting about, and they split off. Seemed they knew eachother from before, and simply got on eachothers' nerves or something. Very odd.
In any case, I was leery about this Rheinland Bomber piloting mercenary. I ordered him to leave our space and return to Rheinland. He agreed reluctantly and I escorted him as far as the Naha, where he continued on to Frankfurt. Back with Taro, I realized the little fiasco made me completely forget about the weapons aquisition, so I headed back to Honshu.
As soon as my ship was finally outfitted with the new hardware, a frantic communique from Katsuo blared out of my comm system. A Hogosha pilot was at Naha! I jumped into my Viper and burned my way as fast I could back to 13. The Hogosha fled from Taro and hit the Honshu jump hole, so I cut him off with Katsuo in pursuit. Surrounded, I barked my venomous greetings to the pilot and engaged.
The battle was short and furious. The Hogosha was flying a Ravens Talon outfitted with Debilitators as well, and his maneuvers were largely evasive. No matter, my Sunslayers hit their mark and he was soon reeling with hull damage.
As per doctors orders, I headed back to the Naha, ending my shift. Noteworthy, however, a WDR transport showed up at Naha soon after I arrived, with a full load of deuterium. Excellent, seeing as we are dreadfully lacking in the stuff these days.
