Well it does actually, but the problem is there is nobody there to regulate it considering the navy presence in Texas is so vague, you routinely get cardi smugglers docking on Houston itself with nobody being the wiser. So this is a problem of player coverage ingame (or rather the fact that everyone camps NY). Also take note that they only really ever look for diamonds and nothing else, and even that is hard for them to prove that you didn't get them from Bering or Texas. But in RP the flow of materials outwards is also to be halted. Check the embargo document (Laws of the Republic of Liberty, article 4).

Not yet. But check the news on various stations, Liberty is bracing for a war.

The USA sanctions against Iraq did not harm the USA economy or it's people.
This embargo by Liberty IS harming the economy and people of Liberty so yes very different.

Well I put it to you that during the period of World War 2 the US economy was very much affected by the embargo with Germany. Many of their vessels were targetted by war operations directly, while their trade to many nations in Europe stopped. If the Iraq example is not good enough, then this must be.

I don't think this is right and proper if it is actually true.
The Navy is a military force that answers to the elected President and elected representatives of the Government.
I tried to roleplay a Liberty Government enquiry proceedings.
I was opening up a debate. The [LN] or LNS or LPI or LSF or whoever are NOT the government of Liberty.
I can accept that the Liberty Government some time ago imposed a trade embargo for some reason.
Can you not accept my democratic right as a citizen of Liberty to challenge that decision?

Not that it's not the LN that are the government of Liberty, but the players that also roleplay LN admirals also roleplay the Liberty government. The situation is the same in Rheinland, Kusari and Bretonia so it's nothing out of the ordinary. And I can perfectly accept your right to challenge their resolution, however what I was critisising is trying to get admins involved in the process. That was simply OORP, and the admin decision to not give a response was a proper one. If you want to dispute the ruling of the Liberty government, then post an inquiry to the Liberty Congress.

We are polite and co-operative with the Rheinland Military and have been stopped for routine scanning on many occasions.
There have been no problems so far.
I have had many problem in Liberty though even to the extent of having my Transport fired upon.
That was when I was passing through the system heading to Kusari, I was not importing into Liberty just passing through.
But the [LN] officer did not believe me and opened fire.

Well, the trigger-happy LN officers are well known, but that's something you can also in RP take to the Liberty government, and demand compensation. Hell, I know of a guy who roleplayed an actual court case and won it, recieving several million credits from the LN for an accident that he "subpoena'd" them for. Everything can be done in RP, and that just proves it. Try it out.
