Well very recently I don't have time to play at all (until friday that is :yahoo:), but even before that I admit I wasn't playing much on RM.... for reasons which you basically outlined yourself.

The existence of the Diamond-Niobium run and the proximity of Rheinland to many lawless systems, means that New Berlin sees perhaps more than its fair share of pirates, non-roleplaying power traders, and.. well (and I hate this word) noobs.

New Berlin, has become a total nest of idiots in the last few days, especially in the evenings (GMT), and is badly in need of de-lousing.

Yes the Diamond-Niobium run... which has a few "nice" effects.

1. Endless lines of traders with all possible ID/Ship/Tag combination rarely saying anything

2. Endless lines of pirates in Sigma 13 that jump over and run and jump back as soon as you came.
Meaning you can:
a) patrol the TL/JH, but then they jump back as soon as they get engaged or see that they might loose or
b) patrol around rest of Rheinland and get endless complains how you have a pirate in NB (which jumps out as soon as you get there).

3. Endless lines of BHG Caps "protecting traders" or shooting wild, mostly mouthy if you don't fly around in a BS..

And one even bigger reason:

"Retarded" fights with Hessians, yes they are retarded, Odin is quite a big ship and doesn't handle extremely well, but it's still one of the fastest VHFs, Wrath turns a bit faster, responds a bit better but one less gun makes them quite close. But the vanilla vulnerability of the Wrath + hessian guns on the other side make all fights retarded. Every fight is about Hessians just aiming to down the shield (debs + natters) then drop nukes and cd them. I can't blame them for doing this, but it's really irritating to fight against that all the time, not to mention Loki + 4 debs +mini+nuke combo.

This is also the reason why Hessians vs Corsair fights stopped, they were simply too retarded. Yes you can say that the "vanilla" side can always bring just bombers... and then it gets even more retarded than before;)
(btw. for example CR vs Outcast fights are retarded in the same way yes, the difference there is that Sabre happens to be awesome now and Krakens are by far the best guns in the game, can't really say the same about Hornvipers which do same damage as lvl 8 Krakens for more energy :lol:)

I don't blame players for "exploiting" this, cause nobody ever fights thinking "oh you are in a fragile ship I won't fight so well"


So as in countless other threads I'd say.... wait until 4.85 :)
