Konnichiwa brothers and sisters!
Today I had to defend Gas Miner Naha against another Outcast assault! This time it was a lone hostile, nevertheless a dangerous gunboat. Mercutio Ramirez was his name. It would seem like the Blood Dragons had sold one of their vessels to this Outcast, as he was indeed piloting a Dragon Gunboat.
I saw him on my scanner, approaching Naha in great speed. I told him to stay clear of Naha, but he must have seen my warning as some kind of invitation, as he continued on course towards Naha. Once in range of the stations guns, Naha opened fire. It didn't take long until the Outcast targeted me with a couple of missiles and fired several salvoes from his guns, trying to catch me off guard as I received no warning before he opened fire!
The battle was on! I returned fire with my quad debilitators and the side-mounted antimatter cannon. After several hits from my antimatter cannon, the gunboat was losing hull integrity. One final shot of my cannon hit the gunboats stern, ripping apart the engines initiating a huge chain reaction of explosions. The shock wave from the blast would have been fatal for me, but luckily my shields took the brunt of the force.
I rejoiced in the destruction of our enemy, however I felt almost guilty in destroying such a beautiful ship. The Blood Dragons sure can construct both powerful and stunning looking vessels! Oh I do hope I don't have to destroy any more of their ships.
But no rest for me yet. Shorty after this first encounter with the enemy, another Outcast was approaching Naha. Again I had to rush to the defence of the station, however this time the stations guns didn't open fire on the enemy. It was just a Sabre, so perhaps our people on-board the station didn't see the Outcast as much of a threat.
The Outcast known as redbull, was now skulking around mere 3 to 4 K from Naha and refusing to leave the stations perimeter. Now taunting me to attack him, I knew he wasn't just going to go away. Leaving me no choice but to engage him, I charged towards his silhouette in the Nebula with full speed and then the dirty dogfighting began. After several hits on both of our vessels, I finally managed to fire a disruptor missile just as he himself fired at least four missiles at the same time. His missiles backfired, destroying his own ship in a spectacular light show! I happened to see his escape pod, drifting towards the explosives gas pockets just west of Naha. I don't think we'll be seeing him any time soon.
I'm now going to have a drink at the bar, and perhaps Akiko Wantanabe of the Kitsune will show up! I did promise to buy her a drink afterall!
