I'd say that the concept of English being the primary universl language and any regional language a second language makes sense. Although I believe someone mentioned something about Spanish probably being big out in the Omicrons, which is likely true.

I agree the most with Darth Malak, another example of what he said would be that

Within the SCRA/Coalition some would speak Russian or Chinese because of the fact that the group is descendant of the old Coalition which was made up of primarily Russian and Chinese people, Though most speak English, due to it being the most widely used universal language.

i agree with the "galatic basic" language being englishwhile it may not be called that thats gow i think it works and the translators used for say a kusari ship in rhineland or whatnot
