And I have never shot at an ELF after friendly status was declared. I suggest checking your sources.

And we are at war with SSO. We went temp neutral with them for a day. Then war was declared again.

I thought the circumstances were made abundantly clear in this most excellent SF Action Report by Commodore Badger himself.

I especially found this part interesting:

Present in the system to defend Bretonia were the [SF] Battleship Sierra, accompanied by my own Gunboat as usual. Also on hand were two fighters from the [IND] Escort Wing, the sso| flagship Hand of Payne and fighter escort, Admiral of the Bs| DBoy (sso| and Bs| hostilities were set aside) and also a [Mandalore] Bounty Hunter looking for some action. The ELF vessel had truly stepped out of it's depth and so had decided to hide-out amongst the vast vacuum that is our home.

So, good Commander, I think you can understand my distress and uncertainty regarding the incident. Any clarification you can provide will be welcome.
